A Private Villa That Totally Cost Too Much, Amalfi Coast, Italy - Sunday Morning

Tony had promised to go all out for Steve's birthday and goddamnit, he was doing just what he promised.

He'd probably have to get JARVIS to not spill how much it cost, though. Yeah, that was going on the list.

But it was more than worth the view, watching the sun rise with a cup of coffee while Steve finished up his usual morning marathon.

"That sounds...kind of wonderful, actually," Steve said, kissing Tony. "I've never been."

"I've really only ever passed through the airport," he admitted. "So, we can discover it together."

"In the fall," Steve said with a little lopsided grin.

It gave him all the warm and fuzzies to have Tony just assume they'd be together.

"You know, normal couples go apple picking," he teased, brushing imaginary lint off Steve's shoulders as he stuck close to him.

"We can do that too," Steve said. "I'll get the tall ones."

"And not make a pie." Never again. "Maybe if we brought them to Eliot's place we can get pie."

"Ooooh," Steve said. "Bet we can ask Hardison to get Eliot to make us pie. Maybe we could do it as a small group thing?"

"Like Fight Club only with pie."

Why are you like this, Tony? Why?

Steve laughed and kissed his nose. "Just like that."

Tony huffed, giving him a little shove. "You should go take a shower."

Steve smiled. "I'm going, I'm going. Save some coffee for me when I get back."

"Anything for you, sweetheart," Tony said, picking up his cup to enjoy the view.

Steve smiled over his shoulder at him.

A few minutes later, an abashed voice yelled out, "I'm lost. Where's the shower again?"

Tony laughed to himself, putting the cup to the side to go hunt Steve down. "I guess I should have done the full tour for you," he called back. "At least you were able to find the place after going out."

It wasn't hard to find. It was the big, private house near the beach that had a healthy amount of grounds to keep it apart from the riff-raff.

"It's the only house for about two kilometers on this part of the beach," Steve said with a little smile.

"Privacy is important," Tony said, snagging him by the front of the shirt to pull along to one of the bathrooms.

Steve gave him an indulgent smile and followed along. "That's what I figured you were going for," he said. "What with the lawn you can land a Quinjet on."

"You never know when that may become necessary," Tony assured him.

"If we have to be picked up in a Quinjet between now and my birthday, I'm going to be disappointed," Steve admitted.

And now Tony had to call in all the favours he could to prevent this from happening. "Okay."

"This can't be the bathroom," Steve said, looking around. "That tub's the size of a pool."

"You said that I was allowed to spoil you, " Tony pointed out.

Steve gave him a wry smile. "I did say that," he admitted. "I wasn't expecting quite this level."

"Want to break it in?" Tony asked, tugging in close.

Steve's eyes lit up. "Yes, please."
