"This is swell, Tony," Steve said, gazing down on the city and grinning. Being up this high would never, ever get old.

It was... perfectly reasonable. Just a six foot teddy bear.

"Happy birthday," Tony said with a quick grin.

If it could fit through a door it was fine!

"Thank you," Steve said. "Is it bad that I've lost track of how old I'm turning?"

"106," Tony supplied for him. Because of course he remembered Steve's stuff.

Steve laughed. "I don't feel a day over thirty," he teased.

"Only as young as you feel," Tony agreed, leaning in for a kiss.

Steve kissed him back, lingering in it. "You know how to make a fella feel special."

"Well, you deserved it this year." He deserved it every year, but Tony had to show restraint or whatever else Pepper kept telling him.

Steve smiled against Tony's mouth. "And I let you spoil me," he teased softly. "How much food did you order?"

"Not... too much." So, so much, Steve.

"And how many people will be eating it?" Steve asked.

"Well, just us." So, so much.

Steve laughed and leaned in for a kiss. "I love you."

In all of his over-the-top Tony-ness.

Look, Tony gotta Tony.

"I wanted it to be perfect for you!"

Steve smiled at him. "I know you do." There were only so many years in a row that Steve could demur about his birthday before Tony exploded and bought an island or something, so this was a good compromise.

"And Pepper nixed a few ideas," Tony grumbled.

"What did she tell you no on?" Steve asked.

"I couldn't try to hire Beyonce," Tony sighed.

"For the two of us?" Steve asked, eyes bugging out. "That sounds...intimate."

"Maybe we would have invited more people if I was allowed to hire Beyonce," Tony admitted.

"Otherwise we'd just be staring at each other," Steve agreed.

"That might be romantic." It'd be so awkward.

"Just you, me, and Beyonce," Steve said.

Thank you, Pepper, for saying no to this.

"Okay, so maybe a little awkward," Tony admitted.

"Just a little bit," Steve said, bringing his finger and thumb together.

"So instead we have wine and appetizers and a fireworks show."

Also romantic, right?

"And that sounds fantastic," Steve assured him. "...how many fireworks?"

"A birthday appropriate amount?" That wasn't a number.

Steve arched up an eyebrow. "Guess we'll see how we each judge that," he said with a little smile. "You said something about wine?"

Was it his favorite one? The one whose price he would never learn?

"Yes!" And also yes. Tony bought it special for the occasion. "I'll pour. You start on the appetizers."

Steve grinned excitedly. "I love appetizers," he said, heading over for the food. He would make Tony a plate, too, and then eat most of it.

As you did when you were a super soldier.

"I got those little shrimp things you liked," Tony called over, opening the bottle with a muffled pop.

Steve's grin softened and sweetened. "Thank you."

"It's your birthday," Tony replied, preening a little at that smile as he offered Steve a glass.

"It is," Steve said, taking the glass. "Thank you for being so thoughtful."

"I've been planning this for ages." For the moment he was let off the chain, really.

"Thank you," Steve repeated, soft and sincere.

Tony pushed up onto his toes to kiss him for that. "Happy birthday, darling."

Steve pulled him in close. "It's swell so far."

"Helps that there's plenty of food, huh?" he teased.

"That does help," Steve said, smiling back. "You help more."

Tony just had to kiss him again for that. "Maybe next year we throw a party."

"A small one," Steve said.

"A small one," Tony agreed. Steve would need to restrain him.

"One where I know all the people," Steve said.

"...fine, I'll make sure to let Pepper control the guest list." She did her best, Steve. Really she did.

And Steve adored her for it!

"Thank you," Steve said, kissing him.

Tony huffed and took a sip of his wine. "I'm not that bad about it."

Yes he was.

"Of course you aren't," Steve said, handing him his plate of food. "I love how excited you get."

"I'm glad." Because Tony couldn't help his over enthusiasm sometimes. It was just... him.

Steve kissed him again. "Shhh, Tony's brain," he murmured softly. "I mean it."

"My brain is fine!" Well, much better now as he slumped into Steve's side.

"I know," Steve said, holding onto Tony a little more tightly.

"How about we get some music on," Tony suggested. Because wow a distraction was good here.

"Make this a dance?" Steve said with a small smile. "JARVIS, play something from the '40s, please?"

Because it was his birthday.

"I'll even be so gracious as to let you lead," Tony promised.

"But you're the one who's had dancing lessons," Steve said with a smile as a slow song came over the speakers. "JARVIS has good taste."

"Well, he picks things based on what you like," Tony said, putting his glass down to offer a hand to Steve.

"Then I have good taste, too," Steve said, smiling.

"That you do," Tony agreed. Married Tony, didn't he?

"Thank you," Steve said, spinning Tony around the room and not banging their legs into any tables.

Which was a testament to practice or familiarity. "Maybe we ought to do this more often. Have the ballroom for a reason."

"We do," Steve agreed, "even if it's still a skating rink. We could dance on skates?"

What could go wrong?

"We could!" Well. Tony could.

Steve blinked. "I didn't actually think you'd go for that."

"Getting to have fun with my husband? Of course it's a yes," Tony replied.

"Well, it's a date," Steve said. "Next week?"

"Deal," Tony said, kissing him for it

"Yay," Steve said softly, kissing him back.

"More date nights. You deserve them."

Sadly someone would be a dog for some of these plans.

It was, strangely, a summertime habit of theirs!

"So do you."

"I'll make you take me out for pizza in Manhattan for mine then." They could bitch about the tourists and how it was summer and therefore smelled strongly of garbage everywhere.

"But the pizza is so much better in Brooklyn," Steve said, mostly to wind Tony up.

"You only say that because you haven't had organic, free range, non-GMO, vegan, probiotic pizza there yet," Tony countered.

"None of that sounds like food," Steve said.

"Brooklyn these days."

You knew he was right, Steve!

Steve wrinkled his nose. "Not in the good parts."

"You'll have to keep trying to convince me then," Tony replied

"I will," Steve said. "I have a mission."

"I look forward to it." Plus more time back home.

Steve could use some grounding in New York right now.

"I'll find a good place, but not now," Steve said. "I want to be here with you."

Tony smiled at that, tugging him toward the wildly oversized couch. "That sounds perfect."

"Let's eat at least some of this food before the cake and fireworks show up," Steve said.

"Yes," Tony agreed. Because the cake was going to be over the top too. Of course it was.

Was it bigger or smaller than the new stuffed friend?

"And then maybe some cuddling," Steve added hopefully.

Smaller. But just barely.

"Oh, of course. We can do that while watching the fireworks even."

"That sounds really nice," Steve admitted.

"Any other requests for your birthday?" Tony asked.

"I think you've anticipated all of them," Steve said.

"I do my best," Tony said, beaming at that.

"Your best is very, very good," Steve said with a kiss.

"Oh, flattery gets you everywhere," Tony murmured into that kiss.

"I hope so," Steve said, smiling. "I want everything from you."

Tony smiled, pulling him into a deeper kiss for that. Because he could live with that.

"I love you," Steve murmured. "Thank you for all of this."

"Least I could do for your birthday," Tony replied.

"It means a lot to me," Steve said, starting on the food.

"It's been a strange summer," Tony replied, leaning into his side to watch for now. "We deserve a little pampering."

"It really has been," Steve agreed. "But you haven't turned into a Tony pony yet, so that's good?"

Tony laughed at that and shook his head. "And you're still you as well!"

They had weird luck in the summer with that.

It would catch up with them again. Cough.

"I like being me," Steve admitted. "I get to eat all of this amazing food."

"Yes," Tony agreed, snagging something off of Steve's plate. "You do."

"Except for that piece," Steve said, frowning.

"You wouldn't like that one," Tony promised. "It wasn't up to par."

"Oh, so this was for my benefit," Steve teased. "I should thank you."

"I'm keeping you safe," Tony promised oh so innocently.

"Thank you," Steve said, smiling and kissing him again. He knew why Tony had been especially attentive and he deeply appreciated it.

Did it help that Tony was struggling to address the elephant in the room back in Fandom as he kissed Steve back? Because he super was struggling. But look at him trying! Kind of.

Steve put his plate aside to concentrate on kissing Tony.

Because kissing wasn't talking!

Steve, you couldn't hide from this! Well, you couldn't hide from this for long at least.

"That happy, huh?"

"It's my birthday," Steve said, "and you're here. I'm happy."

Tony kissed him again for that. "I'll take that."

"Good," Steve murmured. "I've needed you the last few weeks and I've not been good about asking."

"It's been... eventful," Tony agreed. "I was worried about you."

"I couldn't put it into words," Steve admitted.

"And now?" Tony asked, glancing over at him.

Steve sighed and rested his forehead against Tony's chest. "Now I'm trying not to overthink everything."

And there it was. The biggest problem for them both.

"Talk to me."

"Bucky came back," Steve said softly, "and I don't know how to process it."

"Do you think he'll stay?" Tony had to ask. Because he hadn't in the past.

"I don't know," Steve murmured. "I want him to, but I've wanted a lot of things and they haven't gone my way. He hasn't gone to Wakanda, and his fight went different to ours."

He blew out a breath. "And I'm trying to learn my own lessons from our fight and not get tunnel vision."

Tony pulled him over to kiss his temple for that. "This might be something we need to play by ear. Plans don't always... go to plan."

Steve slid his fingers through Tony's, needing the grounding. "I'm not grat at sitting back."

This was probably not news to Tony, Steve.

"You don't say," he teased gently.

Steve's lips quirked up. "It's a closely held secret."

Tony kissed his temple again for that. "I'm here for you. Support however this goes."

"Thank you," Steve murmured. "I'm trying not to push, even though that's not exactly my instinct."

"What's your instinct telling you to do?" Tony asked.

"Fit him with a tracker," Steve admitted.

"Oh no, we only do that with permission." They both learned that lesson!

Steve nodded. "They always go," he whispered. "What am I doing wrong?"

Tony sighed and shifted a little to hug him for that. "The things they've all shred in common, like the things you have in common with any other Steve are the bad and the good."

Steve nodded, chewing his lower lip. "But he's still my best friend."

Tony nodded even as he wished it wasn't the case when it caused this much pain for Steve. "You have another chance here."

"But Bucky's been in Wakanda for years," Steve said softly. "So now I start thinking that he's avoiding me, too."

"He's recovering from something," Tony replied. "But... maybe you should spend some time there coming up."

Steve squeezed Tony's fingers. "You think so?"

"I think so," Tony replied, squeezing them back. "You need it."

"I don't want you to think I'm choosing him over you," Steve said.

Tony kissed him for that. "I'm telling you to go here, sweetheart."

"I will, then," Steve said. "I love you."

"You deserve to find that happiness," Tony murmured. "You hear me?"

Heard, yes. Believed might take some work. He kissed Tony's cheek. "Thank you."

"I'll be right here for you," Tony promised.

"Thank you," Steve murmured, kissing him again.

"But right now, this is about celebrating you," Tony murmured, kissing him back.

Steve smiled. "And I derailed it a little."

"Just a little," Tony replied. "But you needed to."

"But I just dumped without warning you," Steve said, then smiled softly, "which I would also do for you and I know is part of marriage, but I still feel bad."

Tony kissed him for that. "Well, you can make it up to me with letting me sleep in tomorrow morning," he teased.

"After tiring you out tonight?" Steve asked hopefully.

"Yes," Tony said, beaming at him. "Please."

Steve settled in next to him, sighing. "This is nice."

Now that he had finally talked things.

"Happy?" he asked, curling an arm around Steve's waist.

"Deeply," Steve said quietly. "You?"

"I get to spoil my husband," Tony replied. "I'm thrilled."

Steve smiled softly. "I don't let you do it often."

"Just be glad I didn't buy you pretty things to wear," he teased, pressing a kiss into Steve's neck.

Steve chuckled. "How pretty were you thinking?" he asked teasingly.

"Oh, the prettiest," he teased. "Diamonds and gold."

"In a tiara?" Steve teased.

"Maybe." Don't underestimate how much Tony enjoyed these things.

"I love you very, very much," Steve began, "but I don't think I can be persuaded to wear a tiara."

"Maybe a very gaudy necklace?" Tony suggested.

Steve laughed. "No."

"Earrings?" Tony suggested, laughing along with him.

"Well, will they be tasteful ones?" Steve asked.

"Oh, of course." Debatable, Anthony.

"Not recognizable as chandeliers in any way?" Steve asked.

"...look, I like when you're sparkly." Just be glad he didn't break out glitter body spray for the parties.

Steve smiled. "I keep forgetting that," he said, kissing Tony's nose.

"And mine," he added. "Sparkly and mine."

Steve laughed. "I'm yours even when I'm not sparkly," he added, winking.

"Oh, I love the way you think," Tony replied, kissing him.

"I thought you might like that," Steve said, kissing him back.

Hopefully the fireworks wouldn't surprise them.

Nooo, nooo. It couldn't do that. Not when they were having such a nice evening here.

"I did buy you a nice set of pajamas for tonight," Tony murmured. It was a pair of slippers. And that was it.

"Did you?" Steve asked, smiling. "Can I see them?"

Tony beamed, kissing him one more time before popping up to retrieve Steve's gift. "You'll look great in them."

"Is it sparkly?" Steve asked.

"No, but I'll keep that in mind for next year." Tony, no.

Was it surprising when Tony returned with a gift the size of a shoe box? Because, well, it was a shoe box.

Steve arched an eyebrow up. "That's a small box."

A box decidedly smaller than the giant stuffed friend, even!

Tony continued to smile at him for it. Because he was an easy man. With simply wants.

You know, when he wasn't allowed to decorate Steve in pretty, pretty sparkles.

Steve opened the gift, not trusting that smile at all.

"There's only slippers in here," he noted astutely.

"And you'll look amazing in them." Just them.

Steve's cheeks went pink as he grinned and looked down at them. "Let me finish my food first."

Tony beamed again, kissing him on the cheek. "Deal."

And if Steve ate just a little faster than he normally would, that was between him and Tony. "The bedroom's back that way?" he asked, pointing.

He didn't want to give a show to the glass windows, even though they were very high up.

"Mmmhmm." Bold to think the bedroom didn't also have a million windows.

Steve would immediately realize his mistake, yeah.

He leaned in to give Tony a soft kiss. "Unless you want me to wait?"

"We can see the fireworks there too," Tony assured him. "Waiting not necessary."

"Are you setting this up for an explosion joke?" Steve checked, smiling.

"...not anymore I'm not." DAMN IT, STEVE.

Steve's eyes went wide. "I was kidding!"

Tony laughed and leaned in for a kiss. "It's okay. It was an immature joke."

And they were very mature people. Who would never.

If the fireworks spelled out "BOOYAH" or "STEVE", Steve would have some follow-up questions.

"And we're far too mature for that," Steve said, kissing him back, "but not in a senior citizen way."

Would "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" have follow up questions? Asking for a friend.

"Exactly."

But there might have been timing for the display to coincide with certain things, so...

Steve would find that attention to detail endearing. He kissed Tony again. "Then you're free to join me. Do you have a matching outfit?"

"Of course," Tony said, already unbuttoning his shirt. You know. Like a real MVP.

Steve grinned at him, then let out a wolf whistle.

You know, maturely.

Tony shamelessly preened for him. "Thank you, darling."

"I've heard positive reinforcement is important in relationships," Steve told him with another grin.

"I feel encouraged," Tony agreed, tugging on the hem of Steve's shirt next. "Do you?"

"Oh, I'm very encouraged," Steve said, happily getting rid of his shirt.

Tony pressed in for a kiss, letting the shirt fall to the floor. "Yaaaay," he said against Steve's lips.

Steve laughed. "I love how excited you get."

"You don't mind if I'm goofy about it," Tony said, maybe a little sheepishly.

"I love when you are," Steve said, curling his hand around Tony's cheek. "It means you're not caring about appearances. I'm getting the real you."

Tony kissed him again for that. "Even if the real me is a bit of a nerd?"

"Especially because you're a bit of a nerd," Steve assured him.

"Well, I guess I'll be keeping you then."

Was the whole marriage not enough of a clue for that?

"Oh, good," Steve said. "I don't strip to my socks for just anyone."

"Lucky, lucky me," he teased.

"The unexpected upside to running from the law--I'm not asked to be in as many charity calendars," Steve said, slipping out of his pants.

"No beefcake calendars for you," Tony replied solemnly. "We could always make one just for me to make up for it."

"I feel like you might not be suggesting this in an entirely altruistic light," Steve teased, reaching down to remove Tony's pants.

"Oh, I'd donate to plenty of charities for it," Tony replied, helping him with that. Kindly.

Steve laughed and kissed him again. "I bet you would."

"Name five and it's done," Tony murmured between kisses.

"I can barely think of my own name right now," Steve replied, pulling Tony on top of him.

"I'll be gracious and give you time," Tony replied, going along with zero hesitation.

"That's real gracious of you," Steve teased, scratching his nails against Tony's beard.

"I'm a giver," Tony sighed, closing his eyes to enjoy that simple touch.

"You are," Steve said, continuing to move his fingers gently.

Tony pressed into that like a cat. Which made the whole turning into one occasionally thing make a lot of sense. But instead of keeping it at that, he kissed Steve's fingers.

"I love you."

Steve smiled softly. "I know you do. I love you, too."

"Happy birthday," Tony said, maybe ruining the romantic moment by helping Steve with his pants.

"It's been swell so far," Steve said, wriggling out of his pants.

"Some things are hopefully swelling." TONY, WHY?

Steve stopped kissing his shoulder to laugh hopelessly against it instead. "Anthony!"

"You married me," Tony sang, grinning at Steve.

"I'd do it again, too," Steve said, still laughing.

"Jokes that would get me sent to HR and all," Tony replied, settling in as he sat on Steve's hips.

"If you're making swelling jokes and taking pants off, you're way past HR's help," Steve told him.

"You have me there," Tony admitted, pushing hair off Steve's forehead.

Steve leaned into the touch. "Luckily, I'm very happy to be harassed like this."

"I'll take you up on that," Tony replied, trailing his fingers along Steve's face to Mao it out all over again.

Steve smiled. "We haven't tried anything on this sofa--"

"Oh, I like the way you think."

There was a bedroom right over there.

That would require getting up! How reinforced was this sofa anyway?

"And it's my birthday, so I should get what I want, right?" Steve asked.

"And what exactly do you want?" Tony asked playfully.

Steve's cheeks went bright pink. Even now, he wasn't comfortable being expressive about his wants.

"I want you take me apart with your mouth right here on the couch," Steve murmured.

"Of course, darling," Tony murmured, pressing a trail of kisses down Steve's throat. "Anything you want."

"You know what I like," Steve said, tilting his head up for more of those kisses. Tony knowing what he liked made it easier for him to just...not ask.

Tony smiled into his throat before nipping down on the tender skin there. "I like to think so, yes."

"You know me better than anyone," Steve said, smiling back.

"Turn over for me, sweetheart," Tony said with one more biting kiss to Steve's throat.

Steve shivered in anticipation and rolled over. "Like this?"

"Perfect," Tony replied, already kissing a trail down Steve's back. "So perfect."

Steve shivered again. "Only to you," he said with a tiny smile.

"Well, I like to think I'm the only one who matters about that, but that's probably my ego there," he teased.

Steve laughed, turning his head to smile at Tony. "You're the only one who matters on this."

"Feeding my ego," Tony replied, biting down on the meat of one of Steve's cheeks. "Very dangerous, don't you know?"

Steve let out a needy whine. "How'm I dangerous?" he asked.

"Encouraging me," Tony said before he was very much occupied with taking Steve apart with his mouth.

"You have the best ideas when you're encouraged," Steve gasped, pressing back against Tony's tongue.

Tony hummed, pressing forward to give him exactly what he wanted there. Because it was his birthday, after all.

Steve, unconstrained by neighbors or peeping squirrels, was giving full voice to how good that felt for him.

Which was just what Tony wanted to hear. It was the perfect encouragement to chase after reactions to figure out what Steve liked the best.

For the spreadsheet.

Steve's voice cracked in a way he'd be embarrassed about if this didn't feel so good. "Tony--"

"You alright, darling?" Tony asked, sounding maybe a little smug.

Steve laughed breathlessly. "I'm flying."

"Perfect," Tony said, for sure smug about it before going back in to really melt Steve's brain.

Steve's answering moan was extremely heartfelt as he felt his toes curl at the onslaught.

This was the best birthday.

Tony made another pleased noise, curling a hand around Steve to help him get where he so desperately needed. Because he wasn't going to tease. Not today at least.

Tony was the very best. Steve groaned as he pressed his arms into the side of the sofa, making it groan along with him, and squeezed his eyes closed. "Close--" he warned.

Tony hummed again in agreement with that, working his hand in time with his mouth to help him along. Steve, after all, could come more than a few times.

Which was a plus in the relationship.

Super-serum was a hell of a thing.

Steve came all over himself and the sofa with a drawn out gasp.

Tony pulled back with gasp, not at all minding the mess on his couch. Well, their couch now.

"Was that up to par?"

Steve let out a breathless giggle. "It was okay."

You knocked all the sense right out of him, Tony.

"Okay," Tony sputtered, pouting at him. "Okay?"

"It was fine?" he teased, grinning goofily.

"I'll never recover from this," Tony complained, slumping back on the couch.

"My poor, abused husband," Steve said, climbing onto Tony's lap and already half-recovered.

"Abused and neglected," he agreed, letting out a little sigh.

"It's very, very sad," Steve said, leaning in to kiss him.

"Mouthwash," Tony said, giving him a little shove. "Only the best for my husband today."

Steve chuckled. "Very polite. Bedroom, then?"

Good job, sofa. You survive the night!

"Bedroom where there are supplies for phase two," Tony agreed.

"Phase two?" Steve repeated hopefully, getting off of Tony's lap.

"It's a multi-phase plan to make this an amazing birthday," Tony informed him seriously. Because he took his plans very seriously.

Of course he did! Steve kissed him on the top of the head. "I love the effort you've put in," he said sincerely.

"You deserve all of it," Tony said with an earnestness that most would say didn't suit him.

And it made it more precious to Steve that he got to see it. He held out a hand. "Lead on to the second phase, then."

Tony smiled at that, taking his hand to pull him along to the bedroom. "I'll be right back. Feel free to relax on the bed."

It was ridiculously large and comfortable.

"Should I leave my slippers on?" Steve teased.

"Well, they are a gift..."

They were ridiculous people.

"I definitely won't look ridiculous," Steve agreed, laying back on the bed.

"Of course not!" Tony called from the bathroom, talking around a toothbrush.

"Would you tell me if I did?" asked the man with painted wings on his helmet.

"If course I would!" Said the man who built a red and gold suit of armor.

They might not be the leading authorities on what looked silly, in other words?

"I appreciate that," Steve said, grinning.

"Or I'd just replace it like your wardrobe," Tony muttered to himself, spitting into the sink and running the water.

That'd keep Steve from hearing, right?

"I'm pretending I didn't hear you!"

So, no.

Tony jerked up as he put his toothbrush away. Because clearly that helped.

"Thank you, dearest!"

Marriage goals.

"Love you!" Steve called back, laughing.

"Love you too," Tony said, coming back with a sheepish little slink.

Steve laughed at that expression. "Teeth clean?" he asked.

"Yes," Tony said, immediately going for a kiss.

"Yay," Steve said quietly, kissing Tony back.

"Minty fresh for you," Tony murmured, climbing onto the bed and Steve.

"Hi there," Steve said, putting his hands around Tony's hips and kissing him again.

"Hello," Tony replied playfully.

"I like your fancy penthouse," Steve said, grinning against Tony's mouth.

"Our fancy penthouse now," Tony replied happily. Oh, how he enjoyed spoiling Steve with gifts.

"Really?" Steve replied, blinking.

"Well, of course," Tony replied. "The building is still in the company name, but these floors are ours."

Sometimes just how much money he'd married into staggered Steve a little. Manhattan penthouse apartment real estate. Bite him, Donald Trump. "It's beautiful," Steve murmured.

Yeah, welcome to some crazy money here. And also the odds of going 'broke' before rebuilding again because comics.

"We could come here more often," he offered.

"It wouldn't bother your team?" Steve asked.

"They're over at the mansion," Tony said like that was something that Steve had too, right? Right?

"I'm sorry, the what?" Steve asked, glancing up at Tony with confusion. "The place upstate?"

"No, the one by Central Park," Tony replied. "It's the old family home."

Turned into a headquarters for his team.

Steve blinked at him. "I don't think we have that."

"You don't?" Tony frowned, considering it. "Well, that's weird."

"I can ask Tony," Steve offered. "I need to reach out again soon anyway."

"After this." And after Steve was an adorable dog.

"I wasn't going to get up right now," Steve said, laughing.

"I'm just saying!" Look, he was clingy. And had yet to come.

Steve leaned in for a kiss. "I love you."

"I love you too," Tony murmured, pushing him down against the bed for more kissing.

"I have never doubted that," Steve replied softly between kisses. "Keeps me facing the world sometimes."

"Do I?" Tony asked, humming a little with pleasure at that.

"You do," Steve said, kissing him one more time.

"You're sweet talking me now," Tony replied.

"I've learned from you," Steve said, grinning.

Tony kissed him again for it. "I'll accept that."

"You should," Steve said. "It's very complimentary."

Tony laughed and continued to kiss him until he was fully satisfied that no one was taking off at the moment.

Steve gradually slid one of his hands from Tony's hip to between his legs. "What do you need?"

"You," Tony replied helpfully.

Steve laughed. "Well, you have me. I need slightly more specific guidance."

"It's your birthday," Tony insisted.

Steve grinned up at him. "A lapful of billionaire is more than I ever dreamed of, let me tell you."

"Helps that I'm pretty, right?" he teased.

"You are very, very pretty," Steve assured him.

"Perfect answer," Tony said, kissing him for it.

"Well, it's objectively true," Steve pointed out.

"Supplies," Tony said firmly. "In the bedside table."

The very modern, fancy bedside table.

"How many supplies are in this table?" Steve teased, opening the drawer.

"I was planning ahead!"

So, so many supplies.

"For how many years?" Steve asked, rummaging around a bit.

"Now you're just being mean," Tony said, peering over like he could help him out.

"I'm not being mean," Steve said, kissing Tony's shoulder. "What do you want to try first?"

"Well, I was thinking something festive." Please don't say there's apple pie lube in there, Tony.

"Nothing here is attached to a sparkler, right?" Steve checked.

Tony paused.

"Well, maybe not what's in your hand right now."

Steve glanced down and laughed. "I love you."

Tony kissed him on the cheek for it. "I think there might be some handcuffs in there too. Patriotic themed."

God bless America and all that.

"Well, we should probably use them today," Steve said. "They don't make sense at Halloween."

"Exactly!" But what about Memorial Day?

Steve chuckled and shook his head. "Are there Christmas themed ones too? Arbor Day?"

"Do you want me to go looking?" He would and could, Steve.

Steve's cheeks went red. "Please don't."
