There was a casino themed party coming up and that of course meant Tony needed to hunt down the appropriate tuxedo for the occasion. Or find one that he could do something fun with to make it just a bit extra. You know. As you did when your name was Tony Stark.

"Steve, have you seen my Canali?" Tony shouted from inside the walk in closet of their bedroom.

It was bold of him to assume Steve knew what the hell he was talking about.

"I might've eaten it!" Steve, who definitely heard 'cannoli', replied.

"...what?" Steve, not his suits!

"The cannoli?" Steve repeated.

"Canali," Tony corrected. "It's a suit."

Though, you know, super soldier and all. It was technically possible for him to have eaten something like that.

"Then I haven't eaten it," Steve said, wandering into the closet with a smile. "What color is it?"

"Black." There were so many black suits in this closet, Steve.

"So this whole half of the wall?" Steve teased.

"Well, I was going to have it altered so it stood out a little more." A lot more. "For the party."

Liliana had to go an make it a challenge for the attire.

"Stand out how?" Steve asked cautiously, beginning to look through suits like he had the first clue what he was supposed to find.

"Some sparkles. Maybe some lighting effects..."

Was he going to turn this into armor?

"Lighting effects like lights or lighting effects like programmable drones that spell out STARK as you walk into the room?" Steve asked.

Steve, why did you put that into the universe?

"...I wouldn't do that." Anymore. "But it's not a bad idea."

And now he could say it was Steve's!

"It's a fairly bad idea," Steve said with a little laugh. "Are these suits replicating in here?"

"Don't be ridiculous." That was only likely for Reed. "I don't even have the full collection here."

"You don't?" Steve said, eyes going a little wide. "Do you own every black suit?"

"Some are blue," he teased. "Okay, so maybe I have a few too many for living here. I'll grant you that."

"You're generally in jeans here," Steve agreed.

"But we throw parties now!" And Tony bought a new suit for each of them.

"We do," Steve agreed, gesturing at the rack of suits, "but not this many parties."

"I could... donate some?" Yes. They'd love to get a pile of designer suits.

"That would be very generous of you," Steve said with a sincere smile.

"And then pick out something new for you," Tony suggested brightly. "Take a trip into New York."

Oh, someone hadn't noticed the island had moved.

"We could," Steve said slowly. "Have you been outside today?"

"I got coffee and saw the signs for the party," Tony replied with a little frown of concentration as he checked the hem of a suit.

Well, there it was. He'd been undercaffeinated.

"Ah," Steve said, grinning. "We've moved."

"We've moved?" Tony repeated.

[heroic_jawline]

"The island moved," Steve said in a "what can you do" sort of voice.

"We're not in space, right?"

They'd been too long.

"We're not. We're in West Virginia," Steve said. "Is that better or worse?"

"Well, that's better than New Jersey, I guess."

Rude. Kamala was a lovely person.

Steve laughed because New Jersey jokes were always funny and he was only human. "Slightly," he agreed.

"Anything look strange about it?" Tony asked, considering past events.

[heroic_jawline]

"We have more trees today but they aren't moving," Steve said. "We should keep an eye on it."

Tony nodded at that, putting into a mental note pad. "We will then."

"It's August," Steve said. "Things tend to get strange in August."

"And around holidays," Tony added. "The school dances. Or trips."

Steve grinned. "There's a spreadsheet?" he guessed.

"It helps!" Mostly Tony's anxiety.

"I'm sure it does," Steve said, pulling out yet another black suit. "Is this it?"

Tony squinted at it for a moment. "Tom Ford."

Steve, whose expertise stopped at "black suit", nodded like he could figure that out. "Back it goes, then."

"Maybe we'll get to a location where we can buy a new suit," Tony offered to spare Steve this needle in a needlestack.

"Probably not West Virginia, though," Steve said with a grin.

[imafuturist]

"Not unless it's in camo or something," Tony said with the dryness of a New Yorker stuck out in the country.

"It would definitely surprise Liliana--"

[imafuturist]

"Steve!" Tony gasped. "I could never wear camo. I'd never live it down! It'd be like you wearing a Boston Red Sox hat."

"Well, when you put it that way," Steve said, "I see your point."

"Thank you," Tony replied, nodding. "We have standards."

"We do," Steve agreed, pulling out another suit. "This one?"

[imafuturist]

"Ferragamo," Tony said after touching the material for a moment. "But close!"

He was totally assuming Steve was getting better at the difference in designers.

That was very sweet but wrong, Tony.

"Thank you," Steve said, smiling.

"Which, we should get you one," Tony said, holding it up to Steve's cheek to check it against his complexion. "Maybe a charcoal grey."

Let him dress you like a little Barbie doll, Steve.

A Barbie doll with enormous shoulders. "What's wrong with blue?"

All of your suits were blue, Steve, or Army green.

"Branching out doesn't hurt," Tony suggested. "And we can do blue accents."

"Maybe," Steve said, tentatively agreeing.

Tony grinned, leaning over to kiss him for it. "You won't regret it."

He might a little bit.

Steve leaned in for a soft kiss. "I know I won't."

[imafuturist]

"And we get to clean house at the poker table," Tony added because Liliana didn't understand that Tony couldn't help but count cards. Always.

Steve laughed. "Well, of course. No craps?"

"Well, maybe we can even it out there," Tony suggested.

"Let people get some of their money back?" Steve replied.

[imafuturist]

"Exactly!" It made people feel better.

[heroic_jawline]

Steve laughed. "We don't want to lose friends."

[imafuturist]

"And it'll be nice to not have to clean up after a party for a change," he joked.

Steve laughed. "We can offer her the Roombas," he teaed back.

"We should!" And then Liliana and Tony could turn them into some horrifying things to take over some other plane of existence. No big.

"I'm sure she'd love the thoughtfulness," Steve said.

Tony tugged him over for a kiss at that. "You have the best plans."

"I'm glad you think so," Steve said, kissing him back. "We need a better strategy for your suits."

"Organizing," Tony grumbled. "I guess I have a plan for the week."

Steve laughed. "I can help?" he offered. Maybe he'd even learn the differences between the labels!

"And you can decide which one you like best for yourself."

Yes, tell the difference between them all and formulate an opinion.

"Will they fit me?" Steve asked.

[imafuturist]

"Oh no, we'll have to get it made for you," Tony replied. Because buying off the rack? Couldn't be him.

"Before Friday?" Steve replied, smiling. "That seems quick."

"...okay, you can wear your blue one." You had him there!

[heroic_jawline]

Steve smiled. "You like the blue one."

[imafuturist]

"You look very good in the blue one, but you also look good in every suit you've worn."

And Tony was just a little biased.

Steve's cheeks went pink and he ducked his head as he smiled. "Thank you."

"I especially like your dress uniform," Tony said, wiggling his eyebrows because he got Steve blushing.

Steve blushed even deeper. "Those buttons are a pain to sew back on."

"Sorry," Tony said, thoroughly unapologetic.

"You aren't in the slightest," Steve said, kissing him again.

"I might be a little bit," Tony murmured into that kiss. "If it makes you feel better."

"A little," Steve said teasingly. "Maybe I'll make you mend it next time."

He was pretty confident there would be a next time.

"Deal." He'd give it to his tailor.

Steve would be so disappointed. "Thank you," he said with a smile and another kiss.

It would save the suit from being soldered together!

"You are distracting me," Tony informed him, even as he snagged Steve's shoulder to keep him close for another kiss.

"You don't want to be organizing suits," Steve countered.

[imafuturist]

"Maybe I do!" He did not.

[heroic_jawline]

"I can stop kissing you, then," Steve said, pulling away.

[imafuturist]

"No, no, no," Tony said, clinging a little. "You're helping."

Oh yeah. Helping.

"But I'm not helping you sort," Steve teased, kissing him again.

[imafuturist]

"Moral support," Tony suggested.

[heroic_jawline]

"Do you need moral support?" Steve asked.

[imafuturist]

"From you?" Tony asked. "Always."

God, that was sappy.

Steve's smile softened. "Sap," he said, kissing him.

"You love it," Tony replied confidently. Which was a nice thing if you asked him.

"I do," Steve said with a grin. "I like knowing you value my opinion."

"Alway," Tony replied with another kiss. "Who else will keep me from going over the top?"

It was a team effort there, really.

Steve linked his fingers through Tony's and squeezed. "I do my best."
