Regent's Park, London, Sunday Afternoon

Normally they only made a quick day trip to London on Saturdays. But Steven and Llewellyn had wanted to go on a bike ride and have a picnic, and it'd been ages since they'd gone to Regent's Park. Which made it more sensible to stay over in the London flat than it was to make two trips.

Besides, that way they had their first night in the flat as a married couple.

The next day they rented bicycles and took the easy loop around the park. Steven needed a little time to get used to it again but it was, indeed, just like riding a bike.

Once they'd worked up an appetite they stopped off at one of the many dining spots to get lunch to go and eat while enjoying the sights.

Steven pointed out a table in a shady spot. "How about there?"

Caritas, Saturday (7/19)

Tino had spent time on the mainland now that the number of bartenders here on Fandom had gone down. And he was now making that into Jane's problem with the drink specials.

Honestly, she was just glad that he didn't have a replica of one of her outfits again. That had just been the weirdest part of that one weekend. And that was saying something.

Specials
Long Island Iced Tea
Manhattan
Jersey Quarter

At least the drinks seemed drinkable.

Fandom Radio, Saturday, July 19

Good morning, everyone--and it is a good morning, as there were no horrid 'drills' yesterday, so let us learn what did happen, shan't we?

At the school, Drama in the Park-a-Rama announced the cast of their play, and Markets of the Worlds visited a farmer's market on Dantooine. There was produce, of a sort. Mr. Rand claimed he was too 'New York' to enjoy the experience. First Aid reviewed proper triage procedure, with Captain Flint having some questions about...amputations.

Let's move along quickly from that, shall we? I've nothing for the dormitory, but in the town, Detective Watts was singing at the Trooper Station before he was joined for luncheon by Mr. Grant. Miss Eleanor was working on some sleep aids at Plant Parenthood, whilst at Needful Things, it seems hand fans were on sale--most needful in this weather--and I've a note that it will be Dr. Quinn's birthday tomorrow! Many happy returns, Miss. Miss Skywalker was dealing with a plague of confetti at her warehouse, which caused Dean Skywalker to worry he had missed some sort of celebration. Dr. Isley took a break from her research at Pick Your Poison to take a walk with Dr. Quinn. And lastly, but far from least, Dr. Pryde-Barton was about town putting up flyers for a "movie night" in the park on Monday evening. It seems they shall be showing 2 Fast 2 Family, a thrilling tale of fast cars and even faster friendships, and I'm sure it shall be a lovely time for all, even though I'm not sure how entertaining automobiles can be. Until next week, dear listeners!

Over Easy, Saturday

Raiden was back at work today at Over Easy, but he was a smidgen distracted by trying to find out what constituted a balanced meal for a bird.

You know. Normal problems.

Markets of the World(s), 2nd period

Today Lana was in her casual-for-her-own-galaxy clothing, meaning a tunic and leggings with armored boots. She greeted them all with a smile as they waited for the portal. "Today we're headed to Dantooine for a farmer's market. Blba Groves is where they hold their Spring Abundance festival; we're a bit late for that, but they still have plenty of vegetables, fruits, and pies."

She hesitated. "You probably won't enjoy the one with tentacles, but far be it from me to order you not to try it."

The portal arrived, and they stepped out onto a square that was composed of stone, with little booths around it and various species offering the fruits (ha) of their labors. Outside of the area they were in, there were a few small houses, then grass and farmlands as far as they could see.

They were immediately bombarded by calls from farmers to come inspect their goods.

"Enjoy yourselves; we've got about an hour." No time shenanigans today; you wouldn't need any longer.

Pick Your Poison, Friday Afternoon

Pam would be lying if she said she wasn't concerned about the data she was dragging - with difficulty - out of her lamia research, or the pace at which she was creating antidotes. Very, very, very much lying.

It was dragging her away from Gotham, away from Harley, and to her lab more and more often. She felt... a little guilty about that. Especially now, with the latest batch cooking upstairs. She should be heading home, tucking in for a lavish weekend with the girlfriend. Instead, she was here. Back on the steps of Pick Your Poison, sipping from a glass of water to calm the annoying churn under her ribs, and watching her plants grow.

Faster and faster. Some of the vines were already halfway up the side of the doorframe.

Well. At least they were absolutely sure now that Harley was right about her old powers not being quite gone.

Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey had gone into one of the storage lockers to get the remotes, only to immediate have confetti explode all over. No woodchucks in sight, so she couldn't blame them. Must be a Fandom thing.

She took the remotes out, started to set them up, and one again shot out confetti from it. She didn't even know where it was coming from. There was no confetti compartment in these things.

Cool, she'd just put it back and do something else, only for more confetti to does out when she opened the locker again.

All right, just going to do nothing today. Nothing was safe.

Fandom Radio, Friday, July 18

Good morning, everyone, this is Steve Rogers back on air and thankfully no longer a dog.

*chittering*

No, the other three dogs in the tower are always supposed to be dogs. Let's get to the notes! In classes, Finding New Hobbies decorated sugar cookies, Liliana ranted about rocks, mass extinction events, and someone named Urza to her class, and Raiden took the pizza class to Harlem to enjoy New York-style pizza. It wasn't as good as Brooklyn pizza.

*chittering*

Of course I'm going to say that. Finally, Belle was cleaning the library.

In town, Nell stopped by the museum with congratulatory honey bread for Steven to celebrate his wedding to Watts. I missed some stuff while I was indisposed for the week, huh? Lydia and the Supper Club went to Mooby Land for the evening. Ignis made sure that Liliana could attend, even if she'd turned into a cat somewhere between class and supper. Lydia correctly noted that turning into animals--and plants, sorry to hear that, Adrian--is going around. Rey told Lydia that the food at the restaurant was good, and Flint warned Lydia that this was food to be eaten with your hands. Flint caught up with Rey about what he'd missed last week when he'd been a parrot. And Thor was shirtless at the Devil's Nest last night. As a friend, that's kind of awkward to report, but as an artist, I'm kind of sorry anyone missed seeing that.

*chittering*

Exactly. His arms are unreal.

*chittering*

And Tony agrees with me. But that's everything! Have a good weekend.

Harley was having a weird week, and not in the fun, distracting island way, just in the annoyingly complicated human way where you had to have conversations you didn't entirely know what to do with that just kinda left you restless.

Also it was gonna be her birthday on Sunday and she had no plans whatsoever and ugh and bleugh and all that stuff.

But hey, antique hand fans were on sale! That was something!

Drama in the Park-a-Rama [Friday, Period One]

The gremlin had a vision, and two long-suffering interpreters to relay that vision.

"We have been given a cast-list," Cara informed the class, making it sound like there was some kind of terrible fate awaiting them. Because, well...

"And it's apparently nonnegotiable," Jane sighed. "But here we are, the cast list for A Deadly Adoption for off-off-off Broadway, a Gremlin production."

And the list was. Well. It was a list for sure, folks!

Yelena Belova - Sarah (The Mother)
Belle - Bridgette (The Femme Fatale)
Quinn Maybrook - Robert (The Father)
Steve Rogers - Sully (The Daughter)

The gremlin felt that of all the class, Steve had true star potential. The gremlin may also have been under the impression that Steve was still a dog. Cara had so far done nothing to disabuse it of this notion.

"It looks like the gremlin is still working on the script, so let's just... try to figure it out. Maybe get into character?" Jane suggested. "Talk to your classmates about how you'd like to play the dynamics?"

"We'll be supervising," Cara said, having acquired popcorn from somewhere.

Plant Parenthood; Friday [07/18].

Now that they didn't have a weekly class together that was basically a period of Luma making pointed remarks at Eleanor and giving her hard, disparaging looks, Eleanor had been feeling a lot better about having her sister here. Luma was still struggling with a lot of things, but she'd also taken to a lot of other things pretty well, and, frustrating as it could be for the both of them sometimes, Eleanor was glad to be here to help.

But she was also glad for those moments, like going into the store for her shift on Friday, where she could just sort of get away by herself for a while. She probably wasn't ever going to get to that the plants just get me point, but she had gotten a lot better at them, so much so that she didn't even worry about how her drakondias were holding up anymore. So it was now a comfortable thing, which she was learning to fully embrace when she could since life with Luma was anything but.

And she could do things while she was here like making little sleep sachets or teas for her that will help make things a bit more comfortable in that regard, too.

Plant Parenthood is open!

Trooper Station, Friday

As per usual, there wasn't much to do at the Trooper Station, but what there was to be done, Watts was quietly singing to himself while doing it.

Ralph had tried to join in at one point, but the other Troopers were of the opinion that he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket (you'd think they'd all have the same level of skill there, given that they were clones, but apparently not?), and thus he'd been rather quickly shushed.

Library, Thursday 7/17

The library was still a mess when Belle arrived for her shift. Luckily she was prepared, having listened to radio.

She had snacks to bribe some gremlins with in an attempt to get them to help and she had stickers to hand out if they did help, as a reward. Who didn't love stickers, right?

Apparently, a lot of gremlins didn't love stickers. Tiny jerks.

Belle was going to be doing a lot of straightening up herself today with only the occasional help from one or two particularly pleasant gremlins/

Finding (More) New Hobbies, Thursday Period 2

Class today was 100% on time and nobody would dare suggest otherwise, right? Right.

Stark stood at the front of the room, looking out at anyone who was there. “Welcome back. A new thing to try this week, since that’s the whole idea, will not be kickball because Anakin is a ridiculous person. There will also be no slip and slides and no giant costumes. Just in case anyone was worried.”

“Instead, we’re going to try out something I’ve done before and that’s related to one of my favorite things to do. Baking.” Not like that. Well, not like that alone.

“Today we’ll do some cookie decorating. The nice thing about food hobbies is you can eat the results. So I have sugar cookies, which are safe for Steven to eat don’t worry, in a variety of shapes, and then I have royal icing and all manner of sprinkle-type-things to add to them. You can be as fancy or as plain as you like. Have fun with it. If you mess up…it’s still tasty. Just eat the cookie and nobody will know! So, come pick up a cookie, or multiple cookies from the trays, grab some supplies, and decorate. Have fun. No need to try for perfection. Just enjoy it.”

Did you know, Lydia had never actually been to Mooby Land before! The previous time the Supper Club had selected this establishment, she had been unavailable that week, but she believed Captain Flint and Mr. Logan had tried it (she wished Mr. Logan well, wherever he was), and she must admit to a certain curiosity. She hadn't the faintest idea what a 'Mooby' was, or where their land was located.

This was bound to go well. Welcome to Supper Club, everyone!

The Wonderful World of Pizza, Tuesday Second Period

"Okay, guys," Raiden greeted his class once they had assembled at Portalocity and he'd fired off a text to Arden promising her a make-up pizza when she wasn't a bird any more. You know, very normal teacher concerns. "Today, we're following pizza in its journey to the United States, which is where it really took off. You see, Italian immigrants brought their food with them to the US, but like many immigrant groups they not only had to adapt to the ingredients available here, they had access to a wider range of ingredients, so they could do all sorts of new and interesting things. Specifically for our case, Sicilian immigrants from southern Italy had more access to meat and cheese, ingredients that were scarcer and more expensive in their seafood-rich region but plentiful in northern Italy. So don't listen to anyone who ever starts snitting at you about 'authentic' food, because it's a scam. Does the food taste good? Yes? Then who cares if it's authentic? No? Then it doesn't matter if it's authentic. Case closed. But I'm wandering off the point.

"One of the things these Italian immigrants brought with them was, you guessed it, pizza, and in New York is where it really started to take off. I'm not about to start an argument about which is the best kind of pizza--they're all winners to me--but New Yorkers get really heated about it. They favor a thin-crust pizza sold in large slices people like to fold. It's a thing. Today we're going to Harlem to try out Patsy's, opened in 1933 by Pasquale Lanceri and recently featured in a hit movie. A bunch of these old New York pizzerias have their own individual claims to fame, and Patsy's is that they claim to have been the first to sell pizza by the slice. The first in New York, maybe, but remember, that's how pizza was originally sold in those open-air stands in Naples. Ah, but that doesn't matter. C'mon, let's go try some pizza and explore Spanish Harlem.

WTFH - Fandom Radio [Thurs, July 17th]

*chittering*

When have I ever cared about your hangovers?

*extremely loud dropping of notes*

Oops. How careless of me.

In School news, this weeks 'Shenanakins', yes, I see what you did there, involved mascot kickball on booze covered slip'n'slides and were 'the best ever'. In the squirrels' opinions, the voluntolds were a lot more ambivalent on the whole concept. But they tried.

Meanwhile in the Library, everything was a mess and Arden was a bird, these may or may not have been related facts, and were very confusing for Cal and Gray. Well, at least they're pretty.

Nothing much in the Dorms, while in Town, Quinn was at the Infinite Consortium, taking out her poor life choices on an innocent cursed mascot costume, while at Pick You Poison, Adrian was a pot of flowers, and Boston was discovering how useful thumbs are for horticultural purposes.
