Tony woke up in a strange apartment and a strange island. Which made him think either Doctor Pym or the Time Fog had something to do with it.

Maybe HYDRA.

Or magic.

Ugh, look, there were a lot of possibilities and he wasn't going to stress himself over it. Instead, he took out the real Tony's his phone to take a totally great selfie to send to everyone so they knew he was okay. And then a duckfaced one because Jan would appreciate that.

"JARVIS, do we have robots to make breakfast?"

Wait until he realized there was no cheese fridge.

Steve was back from 25 minutes exactly on the treadmill and then wandering around aimlessly on the streets for a while.

He finally entered the building with Stark on it. "Tony?" he called. "Are we having another special event?"

Tony perked up from his spot lounging on the couch and taking pictures because Jan and Natasha kept asking for them. Rhodey and Pepper told him to chill in way nicer terms.

Aaaand Loki wasn't answering.

"You're here too?"

Also, where the hell was his cheese fridge and his hot tub?!

"Of course I'm here," Steve said.

It was so much better than staying in one place and doing jumping jacks for weeks.

"...why? Is everyone else not here?"

"No." There was an unsaid 'duh' in there. "No time fog either. I checked that out first thing. Jan seems to think I should stay put," he added, holding up his phone.

"Maybe this is like that time with the beach."

That Steve wasn't allowed to do because game mechanics.

Tony and Jan always got to the cool things and get the best outfits, darn it all.

"As long as it's not like the one with the group dance number," Steve said.

They were just the coolest people around. Loki and Natasha too.

"Weren't you a werewolf for that?" Tony, don't smirk. Your costume was way more special.

Steve made a face. "At least I wasn't a penguin."

Shh, Steve. Falcon's costume was amazing.

"I liked that costume," Tony muttered, sending Jan another text. After a incredibly fast response from her, leaned in close to Steve to get them both in frame. "Selfie!"

Because she'd asked for it for whatever reason.

Steve, looking slightly bemused, leaned in and smiled.

"Jan?" he guessed.

"Jan," Tony confirmed, sending it off. "She says you look--"

He scowled a little because Jan hadn't called him cute.

"--Nevermind. We should figure out what's going on here or something."

"Sure," Steve agreed. "Maybe after I play some pool?"

Alone. For two hours.

"I'll hit the library then." For eight hours. Getting his degree in historic women.

"You take forever at the library," Steve complained. "I'm there for three minutes, you're there for hours."

"You take hours doing the Charleston," Tony replied defensively.

"It's great cardio!" he retorted.

"Oh my god," Tony said, throwing his hands up in the air. "It's always training with you."

"It can't all be hot tubs and cheese fridges," Steve said, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Maybe it should be!" Not that he had any here. "Maybe I'll spend my time building a hot tub for the roof. It'd probably be more useful than your training sessions."

Because he needed to woo the ladies you know.

"How is a hot tub going to defeat the next group of AIM minions?" Steve asked.

"I'm a genius. I'll figure it out."

And he probably would. Somehow. It'd be something you needed to do to power up in order to do another thing to power up another thing to finally fight HYDRA.

"Bet it'll involve another costume," Steve said dryly.

"It's not my fault I'm a fashion template."

Sure. That's what he was.

Steve laughed. "Is that how Jan puts it?"

"All I hear there is jealousy," Tony replied. "Maybe if you trained less, shed make you some cool clothes."

Yeah, like that gladiator outfit. Ride a giant eagle around Fandom, Steve. Do it.

"My clothes are plenty cool," Steve said, gesturing down to his...well, shield-emblazoned sweater.
