Apartment Above Stark Industries, Saturday Morning

Tony had not expected any visitors this weekend. At least no one who gave him any damn warning before hand. Which meant he might end up finding his own version of Barton sleeping on the couch after raiding the fridge for food.

And that wouldn't be too bad, actually.

Instead, he woke up to Jan blowing up his phone with text messages and a headache.

On the plus side, at least Steve's guest was pretty great. He really should make a point to get to know the Sam Wilson back home. But, for now, he was making some coffee so he could function on a human level.

"How dangerous is he?" Steve asked.

Tony opened his mouth to answer that, but it was sort of a difficult question? "He's not going to start an actual fight. He's just going to push until someone does it for him."

And then it would just be bad news bears all around.

"Then we just won't rise to the bait," Sam said with a little shrug. "We can do that."

Tony just had to. You know. Sort of side eye Steve.

Because he knew you, Steve.

"I will try really hard not to do that," Steve muttered.

"That's all I ask." And hey, he and Sam could bond over the 'STEVE, WHO ARE YOU FIGHTING NOW?!' thing.

It was a new club and they would make a text group about it. At one point Bucky would be included and it would only be a little awkward.

He will always lose the fight with gravity, but he won't stop jumping off things, either...

"You okay?" Steve checked quickly.

It was why Steve really needed to go to space. Where his arch-nemesis, gravity, held no sway over him.

"Yeah." Steve got a little arm squeeze for that. "A little... surprised. But I'm fine. Should probably rescue Hank. Or Jan. I'm not sure who needs rescuing there."

Sam watched that particular interplay with a slightly arched eyebrow at the arm squeezing, but kept his own counsel.

"I could hear Jan, right? through the phone, so I'm guessing Hank," Sam said.

You saw nothing at all, Wilson.

"Wish me luck," Tony said, taking a deep breath. "Once more unto the breach."

"Want us to clear out or stick around?" Steve asked.

[imafuturist]

"If you bring back breakfast, I will marry the both of you," Tony replied sincerely. "It'll give me time to get Hank out of that stupid costume and looking like a normal person."

"Those things from that place you like?" Steve offered. "Plus the big coffees, of course."

"You know me so well," he said with a smile. "Don't let him lap you on the way there, Sam."

"Oh, he better be more polite than that when I traveled across DC on a Friday afternoon to get here just for him," Sam said with a mock glare at Steve. "We'll be back in thirty? Thirty okay?"

"He owes you at least three pastries for that alone," Tony agreed with an exaggerated look of awe at his commitment. "Thirty works."

"Big ones," Steve said, winking. "Call if you need us back faster, okay?" he said, squeezing Tony's shoulder on his way out the door.

Sam gave Tony a quizzical look as he followed him out.

Tony tried very hard to pretend he did not notice it in the slightest. Don't you make this weird, Sam. They did that enough all on their own.

He took a moment before going to drag Hank off the phone and make him attempt to socialize like a normal human being.
