Private Island Near Skyros, Greece, Wednesday Afternoon

After everything that had happened at the end of the summer, it was decided that a vacation away was the best possible thing. The fact that it was a private island was probably not exactly what Steve had expected, but there they were. Because, yes, Tony did in fact own a private island that he'd forgotten about.

It had probably been an investment? Or just following that trend maybe. Who really knew?

Either way, the waters were beautifully blue and they were a boat ride away from any local population.

"I'm moving here," Tony said, lounging in one of the sun beds. He was pretending he could live unplugged like this for an extended period of time.

"You," Tony said, kissing the lovebite. "Have more than earned it."

And knowing just how hard it was for Tony to trust made that even sweeter to Steve. "I'm so glad I have."

Tony grinned, kissing him again for being so unbelievably sweet. "God, I love you."

Steve smiled back against Tony's mouth. "I love you, too."

"I'm putting this island in your name." He then immediately kissed Steve to prevent any objections.

"Mrfgle!" Steve objected, eyes wide open as he got kissed.

Tony was completely unrepentant in continuing to kiss him. All for this evil plan.

"Tony, it's too much," he tried.

"But now you can drag me here for vacations." See? It worked.

"I can't own an island," Steve said. "I don't own an apartment."

"It's much less than a place in Brooklyn." Well. Some places in Brooklyn at least.

"It can't possibly be," Steve said, frowning slightly.

"New York housing market," Tony reminded him.

Steve pulled Tony all the way into his lap. "Entire island."

"It's your Christmas gift this year?" Tony tried.

"Still too much," Steve said, kissing him. "I love your generosity, but it's too much."

"49% yours?" Did that help?

[heroic_jawline]

"We'd split it?" Steve said, wavering slightly in his "Steve doesn't need an island" argument.

"That way it's yours if--if--" Not exactly romantic conversation. "Just in case."

Steve pulled him into a tight hug. "However that sentence ends in your head, no," he murmured in his ear. "I'm not going anywhere and neither are you. I refuse to talk about that on vacation."

"Yeah," Tony agreed with a sigh. "Its hard to shut that part of my brain down sometimes."

"We are not breaking up and you are not dying on me," Steve said softly, running his hand along Tony's back comfortingly. "So, shhh, Tony's brain."

Tony would just quietly set up half a dozen trusts for Steve just in case.

"Mood killer, huh?" he asked with a laugh.

And Steve would drag him back from the great beyond to yell about it.

"A bit," Steve agreed, "but it's us. The mood always comes back."

But the money, Steven!

"You know, I went to Fandom for a break from the weirdness," Tony said, trying to lighten the mood again.
