American Expat Bar, Greece - St. Patrick's Day

Well, they were still enjoying their honeymoon, but the fact that St. Patrick's day fell in the middle of it meant a little frantic internet searching to find a bar for them to be ridiculous Americans and 'enjoy' one green beer in honor of the holiday.

"We could have just flown to Ireland for a few days," Tony said as he glanced around the establishment.

"I think it's more of a religious holiday there anyway," Steve said, smiling. "I don't understand why the beer is green, though."

"To make fun of the people for puking it up?" Tony ventured.

"Eww," Steve said, wrinkling up his nose as he bumped his knee against Tony's under their table.

"It could be worse, we could be in Boston for this," he teased, pressing his leg against Steve's.

"Not Boston," Steve said, shuddering because I'm hilarious, okay. HILARIOUS.

"But we're not because I love you far too much for that." Also, the New York in both of them would jump out.

"That is very reassuring," Steve teased, drinking his terrible flat green beer.

"We'll get some whiskey after this," Tony said, making a face at his own.

"Some good whiskey?" Steve asked. He couldn't really get drunk, after all, but he was learning to like the good stuff.

"The best they have in the bar," he promised. "Just have to get through the corned---lamb?"

Oh no. Oh no.

Oh nooooo.

"That sounds...different," Steve said diplomatically.

"...we could always just get gyros from a street vendor," Tony whispered so as to not offend the bar owner.

"That might be safer," Steve agreed.

"You can make his day by buying out the entire cart," he teased.

[heroic_jawline]

"I still haven't checked that account," Steve said, laughing.

Tony snorted into his terrible beer. "Really?"

"I didn't marry you for the bank account," Steve said.

[imafuturist]

"I know that," Tony assured him. "I'm just surprised you're not curious."

[heroic_jawline]

Steve gave a little shrug. "You own a building in Manhattan and and island. I know you're wealthy."

He didn't really know, though.

"Okay, okay. I won't comment on it anymore." Until he found Steve traumatized by the zeros.

And that's just from the joint account!

Steve grinned at him. "Thank you. It's so strange to not have to worry about money. That was not my experience growing up."

Tony leaned over for a quick kiss on the cheek. "You can help me find the charities you like for donations now too."

"I can think of a few," Steve said promptly.

Which was just what Tony liked to hear.

"We'll make a list once we get home."

"I'm sure you're probably already covering some of them," Steve said with a smile as he finished up his terrible green beer. "Is my tongue green now too?" he asked.
