Being clingy after another weekend of bad potential futures was normal at this point. What wasn't normal was how bad it had been considering both of them were still alive for it.

Then again, they were still only scratching the surface of potential trauma thanks to certain source materials out there.

"We don't need to go out for a while after this, right?" Tony asked.

"We don't," Steve confirmed. "And dinner's already been ordered for later."

"Thank you, J," Tony said, shamelessly pulling Steve along to the couch.

Steve was more than happy to snuggle in next to Tony, taking all of the physical contact he'd been denying himself over the weekend. "Hello."

"Hi," Tony said, letting out a relieved little sigh and being content to sit in silence with him for a moment, just holding on. "So, that sucked."

Steve nodded. "I missed you so much."

"We lived in the same house and were still..." Tony began, making a face at it all.

"Missing each other," Steve murmured.

"Reminds me of my folks." Way to make it more depressing, Tony.

"Ohhh, that makes this whole thing so much worse," Steve muttered.

"That can't happen to us," Tony said, looking him in the eye. "I don't want that for anyone."

Steve nodded, rubbing the back of his neck. "I was miserable."

"I was so unsure about all of it," Tony replied, rubbing a little circle over Steve's heart.

Steve leaned into Tony. "Tell me," he said. "I was so afraid to ask you to talk to me."

"I was gone for so long and then everything was so different. You were different..."

Steve nodded, chewing his lower lip. "It was overwhelming."

Tony sighed and leaned in for a kiss. "What can we do to fix this?"

"I have no idea," Steve admitted, sounding a little defeated.

"You and I can work on this. We have to." They could never have that future.

"I'm really starting to hate the name Thanos," Steve murmured.

"You and me both," Tony sighed. "Never heard it before. Maybe I should check with SWORD?"

"Please," Steve said. "I'd ask Wanda but...I'm wondering if Wanda is like Wanda because of what we just saw."

"Oh." Tony hadn't even thought of that. The weekend was still too fresh for them, let along anyone else they knew.

"Different problem for a different time," Steve said, hugging Tony tightly.

"Yeah," he agreed with a deep inhale. "I'm not going to let go of you for a little while."

"And I will never call you too clingy."
