The Bitty Version of Stark Tower, Sunday Morning

Well, Steve invited Thor to come live with them at the tower. Well, kind of Thor? Tony hadn't really gotten the details of that whole deal, but was different enough for him to assume this was another universe version, but who was he to ever turn down a friend? Alternate universes and all be damned!

Which was why Tony managed to go snag some pastries from the shop in town to bring as a sort of welcome basket. Also because it was an incredibly awkward holiday for him and he was just going to do some stuff to avoid it.

So he put the food down in the common area kitchen of the guest suites and then frowned at the lack of coffee before getting that started. "J, make sure to double the grocery delivery, okay?"

"Yes," Thor agreed solemnly. "I have noticed." Because after a fashion he'd been here this entire time, confusing as that might be.

"So I should order extra food then." Look, he showed friendship by buying people things. This was just a universal fact.

Thor knew and accepted this about you, Tony. "It would not be...the worst idea." He should probably add before they went any further, "What happened just now will happen any time Donald and I swap our places. It is no cause for alarm." Maybe cause for more soundproofing, though.

"I'll give Wanda a heads up?" he ventured. "JARVIS can order some electrical dampening materials for the place. I didn't think about doing it here like back in the mansion..."

"It would not be the worst idea, yes." The worst idea, for the record, would be cloning him, Tony. "I regret that my presence has come as a surprise...how is Wanda?" He had managed to gather that in his universe she had not been doing well in the time after his death, to massively understate the situation.

Somewhere, Skrull Hank was just trying to explain he didn't even pick this plan, it had already existed on the books.

"She's... been dealing with some things. But she's much better. I think living with people has helped."

You can't use 'I was a Skrull' as an excuse for everything, Hank.

"She should be informed of my presence, and Blake's," Thor said. "I would not like to surprise her." Bad things happened when you did that.

No, Skrull only!

"I'll give her a heads up," Tony promised. "She had Thor come visit before. So did Steve. Mine is back in Asgard last I heard."

Thor made a thoughtful sound. "And Jane Foster wields the power of Thor." You wouldn't happen to know what was up with that, would you, Tony? Or what the fuck she had done to his poor hammer?

"The Jane Foster I know of back home is a paramedic and... well, last time I heard about her, we got pulled into the nine realms because Loki."

Yes, because Loki.

"So your guess there is as good as mine."

'Because Loki' explained so many things, really. "A paramedic," Thor repeated. Yes, he could see that for Jane, the Jane he had known. "I will have to ask her, I suppose. Hopefully she will know my face, as she did not know Donald's."

Don't think you're gonna have any problems there, buddy!

"Just keep in mind there were a lot of different versions of everyone's reality out there," Tony said like he was trying to prepare him for A Reaction.

"Yes," Thor agreed. "I am not the Thor she knows. She is not the Jane I knew." That Jane was, according to Donald, married with a child in New York, and Thor wished her all the best. "Still. There are things I must ask her." Or make Don ask him for him. Details.

"Well, I wish you the best of luck there." Which was perfectly reasonable for this place. "You could try stopping in at the bar! She works there on Saturdays."

"I should not like to trouble her at her work, I think," Thor said. He was keeping his concerns about what a 'theoretical astrophysicist' was doing teaching arts & crafts and tending bar to himself. What Jane Foster did with herself was none of his business any more, this one even moreso than the other. "But if no other opportunity presents itself, I shall make myself known to her there. I appreciate your counsel, my friend."

Tony shot him a look that implied he was too polite to point out Thor was doing a little hiding there. "Maybe you'll see her around the school. Or is it... Don? You're two different people, aren't you?"

"Yes," Thor affirmed. "We are separate people, he and I. But..." What was the phrase Donald had used? Thor had liked it. "Both children of Mjolnir. We are bound. We cannot both exist at the same time."

Wow, Tony really missed how Thor talked. That was kind of weird, wasn't it?

"Kind of a Ladyhawke situation."

WAY TO MAKE IT SEEM ROMANTIC, TONY.

"I...do not know what that means." OH NO WERE THEY GONNA HAVE TO HAVE AVENGERS MOVIE NIGHT?

Yesss. YESSSSS.

"It's a movie, you'll love it."

"I shall provide the popcorn," Thor, who knew how movie nights went, promised.
