Central Park, NYC - Tuesday Evening

So Steve was back to normal, but that didn't stop him from wanting to go on a walk. And what better place to go walking and enjoy the tail end of summer than to head on back to New York for a date night?

Okay, so maybe there were plenty of other places that didn't involve the heat or the faint summer scent of garbage. But they were New Yorkers and therefore in New York, smell and all. At least they probably didn't have to worry about any kind of alien invasions.

Steve reached out to link their fingers together and gave Tony's a squeeze. "That was part of my eventual idea."

"Bedroom," Tony said. "Then you can look at what they have to order still."

"Something with chocolate," Steve decided immediately.

"Ooo, do you think they have cake?" Tony, you owned the place.

[heroic_jawline]

"I'm sure they have cake," Steve said, herding him gently towards the bed.

The bedroom, at least, looked normal enough. But Tony was already peeling off clothing as they entered it. "We should keep some clothing here for next time."

Steve smiled as he watched. "You like it here that much?"

"I miss being in the city," Tony admitted with a sigh. "As nice as Fandom has been..."

He needed more hustle and bustle sometimes.

"It's quiet aside from the occasional invasion," Steve agreed.

"Maybe I split more time here and back home," Tony suggested. "Since you'll be working on your team. I should too."

Steve nodded, leaning in for a kiss to Tony's bare shoulder. "I'll miss you."

"Well, I'll always have a reason to come home then," Tony replied, tilting his head for more of that.

"It's the dog, isn't it?" Steve teased, keeping up the slow, soft kisses.

"Oh, you figured me out," Tony said with a laugh.

"I'm smarter than people realize," Steve agreed, moving down Tony's chest.

Tony threaded his fingers through Steve's hair, pulling him over to the bed. "You are most certainly smarter than people realize."

"Is it because I'm blond?" Steve asked, only half kidding.

Tony had to laugh at that, falling against the bed. "Yes. Exactly that."

Steve kissed his laughing mouth. "Brat," he said fondly. "I'll order food."

He was still hungry. (He was always hungry.)

"And wine!" Tony suggested. "Champagne."

Just what he needed, clearly.

Steve would extend him some grace for a room that looked like something Howard would swan around in.

"And some water," Steve said, picking up the phone to order the entire dessert menu, a very small bottle of champagne, and entirely too much water.

"And water," Tony agreed, sighing and closing his eyes for a moment. He wasn't sleeping, don't be silly.

He was just resting his eyes, right?

"So much water," Steve said, smiling down at Tony. "Don't suppose I could convince you to see if there's a giant tub here?"

"Ypu want a bath?" Tony asked with a yawn.

Because he was just resting his eyes, yes.

"I do," Steve admitted. "But I can do that alone and let you nap."
