Central Park, NYC - Tuesday Evening

So Steve was back to normal, but that didn't stop him from wanting to go on a walk. And what better place to go walking and enjoy the tail end of summer than to head on back to New York for a date night?

Okay, so maybe there were plenty of other places that didn't involve the heat or the faint summer scent of garbage. But they were New Yorkers and therefore in New York, smell and all. At least they probably didn't have to worry about any kind of alien invasions.

Hopefully.

Steve kissed his laughing mouth. "Brat," he said fondly. "I'll order food."

He was still hungry. (He was always hungry.)

"And wine!" Tony suggested. "Champagne."

Just what he needed, clearly.

Steve would extend him some grace for a room that looked like something Howard would swan around in.

"And some water," Steve said, picking up the phone to order the entire dessert menu, a very small bottle of champagne, and entirely too much water.

"And water," Tony agreed, sighing and closing his eyes for a moment. He wasn't sleeping, don't be silly.

He was just resting his eyes, right?

"So much water," Steve said, smiling down at Tony. "Don't suppose I could convince you to see if there's a giant tub here?"

"Ypu want a bath?" Tony asked with a yawn.

Because he was just resting his eyes, yes.

"I do," Steve admitted. "But I can do that alone and let you nap."

Tony made a disgruntled noise abd blindly reached for him. "I'll come too."

"You can rest your eyes in the water too," Steve promised with a small smile. "I bet they have bubbles or something that smells good we can add to the water, too." He levered himself off the bed. "Give me two minutes," he added, stripping out of his clothing as he headed for the bathroom.

His laughter came out of the room as he entered. "There's a chandelier over the tub," he said, sounding delighted.

"There is?" Oh, this was going to be a magical bath.

"A small one," Steve said, "so don't get ideas."

"Well, a small one wouldn't be bad in our bathroom," Tony insisted.

"We're not moving a party chandelier upstairs," Steve teased.

"A small one," Tony insisted, pushing himself up and tugging off the rest of his clothing.

Steve turned the water on in the bath and looked around for bubbles or soap or something to add. "Aha," he said, spotting the little tray of toiletries on the counter. "Lavender or cedarwood?" he called.

"Cedarwood," Tony said, following him into the bathroom. "At least it's not a small room."

It was unreasonably large, Anthony.

"I think this is bigger than the first apartment I lived in as a kid," Steve said.

"Really?" It seemed perfectly reasonable!

Steve smiled at him. "We grew up very differently."

Tony leaned over the very deep tub to get it started on filling. Since it would clearly take some time.

"Not even just the time difference."

[heroic_jawline]

"Not even that," Steve said, smiling. "This amount of water would be for my whole building."

[imafuturist]

"It's decadent then," Tony said, testing the water and finding it just as hot as Steve liked and too hot for him. It'd cool down at least.

Steve added some of the bubble bath and sighed happily at the smell. "This is very decadent."

"Well, I like giving you decadent things," Tony replied, stepping aside to let him climb into the steaming bath.

Steve sighed again as he slid into the water and into the bubbles. "You'll probably want to wait five minutes before you get in."

Or you'd be boiled like a lobster, Tony.
