Penthouse Apartment of the Stark Tower-ish, Friday Morning

Well, Tony didn't expect to wake up to a snake coiled up in the crook of his neck, tongue flicking out to taste the air.

A dog, sure. A cat, sure. But a snake was new.

"Steve?" he asked as the snake curled up tighter and made an annoyed sound that he didn't know snakes could make.

"Hmmm?" Steve replied, not opening his eyes yet. "I have time until the radio."

"There's a snake in the bed," Tony said. But somehow he didn't sound worried. Which was... different.

"That's the worst pick-up line you've ever used," Steve told him.

Tony twisted to give him A Look for that. "...well, there's an eagle too."

That got Steve to open his eyes. "What?"

"Good morning," Scout said.

"Why are they do loud?" Ifa whined.

"Oh, and they talk." Of course they talked!

"Of course they talk," Steve said, banging his forehead into Tony's snake-free shoulder.

Tony sighed, patting him like it helped. "Weird weekend?" he suggested as Ifa slithered off the bed with a thump.

"Weird weekend," Steve confirmed. "Fun."

"Weren't they a dog and a cat last time?" he asked, leaning into Steve like it would get everything back to normal.

"I think so," Steve confirmed. "Maybe the island thought we don't need any more dogs."

"...you know, that's possible," Tony admitted.

Scout fluffed out his feathers. "Or we could be an upgrade," he commented.

"I'm sure you are," Tony said loyally as the snake was doing it's level best to slither on up to the perch that Scout was on. It was a thing of determination.

"I'm surprised your snake doesn't have a jetpack," Steve teased.

The snake and Tony perked up at that. "Can we?" she asked. Was it aimed at Steve or Scout? Hard to tell!

"Sure," said Steve over Scout's emphatic "No."

"Weekend project," Tony murmured, kissing Steve's neck.

Steve laughed. "If they stick around, sure."

"I'll get measurements for the future either way." You married this, Steve.

[heroic_jawline]

Steve grinned fondly at him. "Of course you will. Now you have a project."

"I'm making your bird a helmet too."

His snake was coiling around the eagle's leg like it was just as clingy in the morning as Tony was.

"Scout will love that," Steve said. Scout looked very dubious, for an eagle.

"It'll be a good helmet," Ifa hissed soothingly.

"See?" Tony said, gesturing over at the animals.

"We do get into some wild situations," Steve admitted. "Scout?"

The eagle finally nodded.
