Apartment Above Stark Industries, Saturday Morning

Rhodey didn't arrive yesterday with everyone else, instead he showed up bright and early Saturday morning. With the promise of a home cooked breakfast that wasn't charred.

For that reason Tony was willing to forgive him.

That and because he was Rhodey and deserved only nice things in life.

"C'mon, we talked about this," Tony said, leaning against the counter top to watch Rhodey make eggs like that shit was magic.

"No," Rhodey corrected. "You talked, I listened. And then I disagreed."

He glanced over Tony's shoulder toward T'Challa. "Scrambled okay?"

"Please," he replied, enjoying his cup of coffee and watching the 'show' going on right now. And only just a little because he was on Rhodes' side in this argument.

"You're feeding him first?" Tony asked, distracted for a moment.

Rhodey rolled his eyes and cracked a few eggs into the pan to start cooking. The food that he brought with him because he knew Tony's eating habits was microwaved or prepared by someone else. "Yes, royalty and people with common sense eat first, Tony."

"I get no respect, even in my own home," Tony said with a dramatic sigh.

After pointing Spider-Ham in the direction of breakfast, Jessica decided to check in and see if anyone else was dealing with cartoon pigs. Yes, his Web Warriors story checked out, but still. Cartoon freaking pig.

That's why she was knocking on the window. What? You befriended spider-people, you were going to get window visits now and then.

"There is a woman knocking on your window," T'Challa pointed out, enjoying his eggs. Because it would be rude to undermine his host and open it, after all.

"What?" Give Tony a minute to catch up with that. "There's a door, Jessica," he muttered, opening the window anyway.

"This is faster," Jessica said, taking her mask off as she climbed in. "Anyone else around here have cartoon pigs following them around?"

There was a long silence in the kitchen in response to that. "Tones, only you."

"No, I'm as lost as you are," Tony insisted. "A cartoon pig?"

"Calls himself Spider-Ham, and I wish I was joking," Jessica said. "By the way, hi everyone, I'm Jessica. And I'm not crazy, I swear."

Steve poked his head out of his room. "Hey, everyone!"

Steve, you should have put a shirt on.

At least this group was mostly used to such displays. Many of which having lived together for an extended period of time.

"Captain," Rhodey chorused. "There's breakfast. Tony had nothing to do with it."

"I made the coffee!" Tony objected. "Please put on a shirt before Jan wakes up."

"Good morning, Steve!" Jan called, ambling on into the kitchen wearing one of Tony's old MIT shirts as a nightgown.

Steve blushed to the tip of his ears. "Sorry," he stammered. "I forgot Tony said that you might be staying here."

Rumlow rapped on the door (in the "Shave and a Haircut" pattern), then yelled. "Rogers! You promised me a tour of the gym, man!"

"And another person for breakfast. I really hope you got enough food, Rhodey!" Tony called back over his shoulder as he opened the door for the man. "Hi."

"You're Tony Stark!" Brock said with a laugh. "I know Cap never lies, but I couldn't quite wrap my head around how you two could be roomies when everyone knows you're in Malibu."

"Malibu?" Tony asked, making a face as he stepped back to let him into the apartment. "Alt-me is in Malibu?"

"Maybe he got sick of New York winters," Rhodey commented, cracking up at Tony's sheer level of offense at that.

"I like Malibu," Jan chimed in, nibbling on a piece of toast. "That have great stores there. And it's almost always bikini weather."

Of course that would be her stipulations.
