The weekend had been one of the super fun kind that this island was so fond of throwing at people. And Steve had left a note before disappearing on him.

Which.

You know, that would be unpacked sometime when he wasn't looking five minutes from falling apart on Tony. But it was going to be A Thing. Don't think it wouldn't be.

"I'm ordering you food," Tony said the moment they were through the door.

"...took control of a few satellites to scour the island for you?" Which. Yeah. That was normal.

Steve kissed him again, lingering. "Sweetheart."

"I turned them back over." Eventually.

"I'm sure you did," Steve said, kissing him between the eyes. "Did they show you anything?"

Tony huffed out in annoyance, wrapping his arms around Steve's waist to keep him close. "Nothing that let me find you. When you needed me."

"You're going to let this eat at you, huh?" Steve whispered, staying just as close.

"As much as whatever happened in there is going to eat at you," Tony said, glancing up to meet his eyes.

Steve made a face. "Hate when you're right."

"I'm a genius, you know," Tony said, tapping his thumb against Steve's neck.

"I've heard that about you," Steve said.

"Sirs, your food delivery has arrived," JARVIS chimed in. You know, helpfully.

Tony glanced up at the ceiling at the interruption. Just as he was getting somewhere with Steve.

Steve crawled out of Tony's lap. "I'll get it."

And made a quick escape for the moment. Tactically sneaky bastard.

"You've got a soft spot for him, J," Tony muttered once Steve was gone. His response was a flood of spam email about PTSD treatments that weren't exactly a shock for anyone. "Yeah, yeah."

Steve returned--eventually--with a ridiculousl tall stack of pizzas, plates, and drinks.

"Enough for an army," he said.

"I doubled the usual order." That poor, poor pizza place.

"Do they have anything left for the kids at the dorm?" Steve asked.

"I'd hope they've learned how to keep up with demand by now," Tony replied, shifting over on the couch to give him a spot to sit.

Right next to Tony, but whatever.

Steve gave him a tiny smile--he knew what you were doing, Tony--and sat down next to him. "You're eating too, right? I know how you get when you're worried."

"I'm eating too," Tony said, rolling his eyes.

He ate a whole power bar on Saturday! That counted!

It so didn't.

"Thank you," Steve said, all honest sincerity, and handed him four slices of pizza.

You know, to get started.

Steve did his motherhenning in a food based way. Which Tony would grudgingly accept.

For now.

"If you think this'll put me in a food coma and let you escape talking, you're wrong."

"Can't talk, chewing," Steve said, shoving a half slice of pizza straight into his own mouth.

Tony was so into right now, Steve.

"You're just making me into the emotionally stable one in the relationship."

"That doesn't seem right," Steve agreed.

Tony nodded in total agreement, trying not to laugh. "Turning the world upside down, Rogers."
