Tony had mentioned attempting to cook more on their last date night, but that had ended in a kitchen fire that he just wasn't going to share with Steve. Just was going to pretend nothing happened at all in that trial run.

But a salad was hard to mess up, right? Right!

"JARVIS, let me know when Steve gets in, okay?" he asked, trying to decide what vinegar was best to use here. He might have purchased about fifteen different types from the store.

Steve laughed softly. "You do just fine without trying," he said, nipping Tony's neck.

"Oh, keep that up," Tony hummed, tilting his head for Steve.

"More of this, hmm?" Steve said, trailing little bites along Tony's jawline.

"Yes," Tony sighed. "I love your mouth on me. If I wasn't appreciative enough before to let clue you in."

"I like you being appreciative," Steve said, scratching down Tony's back. "Makes me know I'm doing things you like."

"Most of the things you do I like a quite a bit," Tony sighed, wriggling a little in place like he wanted to move back into the scratching down his back but also to roll his hips for Steve's benefit too.

Steve kissed him again. "Good," he said. "I want you happy."

"You make me so very happy," Tony replied, punctuating the last three words with a kiss for each of them.

Steve relaxed into him, something settling inside to hear that.

"I worry," he admitted.

"I get that," Tony said, running his fingers through Steve's hair. "I do too."

If that helped him feel better about it.

Steve kissed him again, soft and slow. "This is the most important thing in my life," he said earnestly, "and it would kill me to screw it up."

Which made Tony flush red with the force of all that honesty. "I feel the same. We're in this together, though."

"Good," Steve said, kissing his nose, then between the eyes. "Because I'm pretty sweet on you."

"We'll keep each other on track," Tony agreed, smiling at that gesture.

"That's a promise," Steve said, smiling back.

"Maybe that should have been in the vows to replace the obey thing," he teased.

Steve kissed him again. "It's a lot easier to do."

"Definitely," Tony agreed, pushing him back against the couch to deepen the kiss.

Steve sighed happily and fell back against the pillows. "Showing me works, too."

"Well, we have the whole weekend for a refresher course on the subject," he teased, following him for another kiss as he cupped the back of Steve's head in one hand.

Steve nipped on Tony's lower lip and pulled him in closer.

Tony hummed, pressing in until they were flush against each other. "Oh, you like that?"

Steve's cheeks went pink. "You know I do."

"Just checking in," Tony assured him, rolling his hips slowly.

"Thank you," Steve said. "Green, green, green."
