Montreal, Canada - Thursday December 23rd

Once Steve had finished up with his 'loser radio', they had a portal to spend the holiday up in the frigid north. Which might have been an attempt to broaden Steve's horizons or just to avoid any potential lack of coffee thanks to the island.

One of those two was definitely the case.

But now they were in Montreal for a bit of a brisk walk to their hotel.

Well, it was cold, so they were being very brisk. "These feels a lot like Europe," Steve said, admiring the architecture.

Tony grinned at that, clutching a little tighter at Steve's arm to ward off the chill. "It's no New York, that's for sure."

"Which is the best, of course, but it's nice to see other places, too."

"You have me there," Tony had to admit. "As long as it's not the Midwest."

Steve snickered. "You don't like corn?"

"Do you?" Tony replied with a wry little grin.

"Not enough to stare at it for hours," Steve said, grinning back.

"So, that's off our list of places to go," Tony replied easily.

"Well, maybe Chicago," Steve allowed. "They have good art."

"Well, Chicago is at least a decently sized city," Tony agreed. Which was the only thing the Midwest had going for it.

"Shame about the pizza," Steve said.

"It's a casserole!" Boys, boys. You were upsetting an entire city.

"If you can't fold it, it's not pizza," Steve said righteously.

"Thank you!" They deserved each other, honestly.

"So, where are we going?" Steve asked, glancing around.

"I got us a room--" Suite. "--at a local hotel for the holiday weekend," he said, pointing up at where the hotel was.

Steve let out a low whistle. "You went all out."

"It's Christmas," Tony said with a pleased little smile at that reaction.

Steve reached out and squeezed Tony's fingers. "Thank you."

Tony smiled wider and pushed up a little to kiss him on the cheek. "A nice little get away is just what we need."

"I agree," Steve said. "We don't even have to explore the city all that much."

"And we can enjoy the snow without needing to do anything with it," Tony added brightly. Like dig poor, poor Patriot out of a snow drift.

Who was probably off breaking Instagram again with the outfits Jan would put him in for the holiday.

"From inside," Steve said happily. "Is there a fire?"

"There is," Tony replied brightly. "And a very nice view of the city."

Very nice, he said.
