Tony had escaped the radio station with a slow moving garland snake trailing behind him. Which was pretty much normal for this place. It wasn't nearly as fun as yesterday, but he was still just going to go with it.

"You can get the next one," he called to the garland as he pushed the close doors button on the very much not overkill, Steve elevator.

Then took a deep breath as the ding sounded to announce his arrival at the appropriate floor.

"Honey, I'm home."

Well, the good news was that Steve wasn't hanging from the ceiling like when Tony'd rescued him at Wanda's. The bad news was there were a couple of garlands starting to box Steve into a corner.

"Hi, sweetheart," Steve replied with a wave. "Patty's killed two garlands already."

"Do you want a gauntlet?" Tony offered, giving Patriot an approving look.

"Please," Steve said with a little laugh.

Tony gave him a sympathetic look and nodded as he called for both gauntlets to come up from the lab. It was perfectly normal to have flying, robotic gloves come up the stairs, right? Wanda was cool with that?

"Maybe we got spoiled yesterday," he said, hand out for it to form around.

Steve grinned. "That was a fun day."

They probably traumatized the mistletoe a bit.

Just a tiiiiny bit.

Tony beamed back at him, peeling off a gauntlet to offer over to him.

"Thanks," Steve said, putting it onto his left hand like it was his shield.

"It'll be an interesting weekend at least," Tony said, kicking at one that was slithering toward his leg.

"At least the last two are done so they can't make the party strange," Steve said.

"Oh, I think the island will figure out a way to manage it," Tony replied dryly.

"Well, that should make the party more interesting."

"We will make it work," Tony decided. "It can't be any worse that HYDRA attacking back home."

"Well, now you've just jinxed it," Steve said, shooting the gauntlet at a garland that was getting too close.

Tony made an affronted noise. "I did not!"

He really did.

Steve grinned. "But you did."

"You're just being superstitious." Which clearly Tony, a man of science, was not.

"I'd say cautious rather than superstitous," Steve said.

"I think we'll be just fine," Tony insisted, digging that hole deeper.

"I'll order in some water in case the taps go," Steve decided.

"...good plan."

"I thought you'd like that planning," Steve said, leaning in for a quick kiss. Not that they needed any since yesterday.

Tony laughed and kissed him back. "I thought maybe you were kissed out."

"There's no such thing," Steve told him Very Solemnly.

"Oh, good answer," Tony said. "Well practiced."

"Thank you," Steve said. "I'm glad all that time in front of the mirror paid off."

"You should maybe try other deliveries just in case," Tony suggested with a grin.

"I do need to tweak my 'don't worry, citizen,'" Steve admitted. "It's cheesy."

"Maybe try the whole Ratman raspy voice one," Tony suggested. Because of course he'd suggest that.

Steve burst out laughing. "No."

"It works with the beard!"

Anthony, no.

"Does Ratman have a beard?" Steve asked.

"I'm sure some version does," Tony replied helpfully.

"No," Steve said in his very best (but still not great) Ratman impression.

"Oh, I'm so into you." Was he? Was he?"

Steve grinned. "Really? This works for you?"

"It helps that it's you," Tony suggested.

"You are incorrigible," Steve said, laughing.

"I like what I like!"

"Me?" Steve guessed.

"Married you, didn't I?"Tony asked, leaning in and not noticing that garland slithering forward.

"Yes, you did," Steve said, kissing him. "Sucker."

"Tricked me, huh?" Tony said into that kiss. Which was very nice until he had a garland yanking on his ankle to break it.

"Hey, stop that," Steve said, stomping on the garland.

"Not the kind of tying up we like," Tony agreed, pulling his foot free.

Steve's entire face went pink. "Tony!"

Tony just gave him a perfectly innocent look. "What, darling?"

"Didn't you already scar the mistletoe?"

"I like to think that was a group effort," Tony said smugly.

Steve blushed again. "Well. Maybe."

They could clearly use this to deal with all the issues coming from the silliness this month, right?

"Definitely."

Of course they could!

"It wanted to see us kiss, and I don't feel it's on me that it followed us into all of those rooms. And the elevator."

"Exactly!" Tony agreed. "We were honestly just having a normal day."

"Well, slightly more hands on than usual," Steve allowed.

"I thought it was pretty average," Tony said, for sure trying to rile Steve up with a grin.

Steve burst out laughing. "Completely incorrible," he said with another kiss.

"You'd get bored of me if I wasn't," Tony assured him. "I'm a boring guy."

What with the multi-billion dollar company and superhero life.

"You fly around in a suit you built yourself," Steve said, "and make things that make the entire world better. You're not boring."

Steve Rogers: still president of the Tony Stark fan club.

Which was very sweet of him.

"Well, when you put it like that..."

Steve gave him a smile. "I don't like people calling you names. Even if it's you."

Steve needed to be steered away from a loooot of the internet then.

"You're very sweet like that."

But they were wrong! On the internet!

"Just making sure they know they're wrong," Steve said.

How could they?!

Tony laughed and leaned in for another kiss. "Well, you do love a good fight."

"You're always worth fighting for," Steve said.

Steve got a much sweeter kiss for that. "Thank you, darling."

Steve was not noticing the garland's renewed sneak attack as he kissed Tony back.

Tony hummed into that kiss before it turned into a yelp of surprise once the garland wrapped itself around both of their legs. "Oh, it's just sad."

Steve frowned down at the garland. "Honestly."

"Oh nooo. We've been caught," Tony said, trying to give the poor thing a little bit of a confidence boost. Because this was just so sad.

"Help, help, help," Steve said, hoping Patriot didn't hear him.

Oh, it was too late for that. Those murderous instincts took over as Patty attacked with an admittedly ferocious growl.

"Okay, so maybe we should be a little more careful with the dog this month."

The sheer amount of tinsel he was going to poop out...

The floor chocolate.

"Definitely," Steve agreed, reaching down to help the corgi out.

Oh, they were going to need JARVIS on high alert.

"At least we caught him before he ate too much marzipan."

How much marzipan was too much marzipan for a dog?

"He was like one of those little marzipan stuffed Christmas cakes," Steve teased, kicking free of the garland.

"Well, you get to rub his belly while he farts as it digests next time."

Being a dog owner sure was glamorous.

"Oooh, tempting," Steve teased, leaning in to kiss his nose. "See? You're not boring."

Just domestic.

"I try," he replied, stepping free himself as Patty shook his head viciously.

"Good dog," Steve said with a grin. "Excellent protecting."

"We never need to fear intruders," Tony added solemnly.

And not just because he was insane and put so much into the security system here.

"Corgis are extremely good guard dogs," Steve said with a lot of loyalty and not a ton of adherence to facts.

"Vicious protectors," Tony agreed.

The vicious protector was currently snoring on Steve's feet.

"Very."

"You get to clean up the remains," Tony said, slipping away before Steve could stop him.

"Wow," Steve said, staring at Tony's back. "I'm impressed, Stark."

"I need coffee!" Tony insisted.

"This second?" Steve retorted.

"Maybe!" In the face of tinsel murder? Yes.

"Never pictured you as a coward," Steve teased.

"I'm not a coward!" Tony insisted.

"You don't want to deal with tinsel butt," Steve said.

"Which is just being reasonable," Tony insisted. "Maybe I can get you a cup too?"

"Please," Steve said with a smile. "I'll watch Patty."

"Love you." Even though he was escaping the mess.

"I love you too," Steve said, smiling. "Make the coffee strong."

"Spike it with Thor's hooch. Got it," Tony replied with a nod.

"I love that you knew that," Steve said.

"I know you too well, darling," Tony called back, making his way to the kitchen that was just too fancy for two people who struggled with basic cooking.

But it would amazing in Instagram pics! If Steve knew how to do that!

"You do," Steve said, grinning. "It's nice."

And not just get pictures of his thumb and a little bit of the dog.

"Well, if I didn't, this whole marriage might not work out nearly as well," he teased.

Steve laughed. "I would hate that."

"Like roommates who occasionally hug," Tony agreed, coming back with one massive coffee for himself and a more normal sized, spiked one for Steve.

"We did that at the beginning," Steve said.

It had been awkward!

"We were friends!" Who hugged, yes.

"Close friends," Steve agreed.

"Exactly."

And it wasn't at all weird for them.

Steve grinned. "This is better."

"We finish fewer movies now though." There was that.

"I'm weirdly proud of that," Steve admitted.

Tony laughed at that, shaking his head. "I kind of am too."

"I'd say we could watch one now but the garlands will get us," Steve said.

"Wrong kind of tying up I want with you," Tony agreed, leaning in for a kiss.

Steve laughed against Tony's mouth. "And Patty attacking it is not the mood I want to set."

"Oh, instant mood killer," Tony agreed. "Right up there with... well, I can't think of anything off the top of my head."

"Turning into a dog halfway through a movie?" Steve offered, blushing.

"Okay, you have me there." Or a cat!

Steve grinned. "Go make the coffee. I'll watch the dog."
