Tony shot up, one hand immediately going to his now perfectly normal chest before registering where he was.

"Time'z'it?" he mumbled, pressing the heel of his hand against the bridge of his nose stabilize the pounding in his head as he quickly silenced all the data feeds surging in at once. Again, no clue how natural telepaths lived like this all the time.

"It is currently 1:26 P.M. Eastern standard time," JARVIS supplied helpfully.

He untangled himself from the throw blanket and sat up on the couch to glare at where Fox News was still quietly playing on the TV. Because Tony was a masochist.

Ugh, naps were simultaneously the best and worst things in the world.

Steve wrinkled his nose up. "I'll stick to a local diner, then."

"You are such a hipster." Without even meaning to be! "Denny's and Waffle House are... not so proud traditions of inebriated college students at three in the morning."

Steve smirked at him. "Is there one near your college?"

"There were a couple places," Tony replied with a grin at the memory. "Any place that was open late was the best. Walking distance was even better."

"For the staggering home part?" Steve said, grinning. "Bucky and I had a few nights like that."

"It was alcohol or normal sleep deprivation for Rhodey and I," Tony said with way too much pride.

And by then Rhodey had been latched onto too much to escape.

"If we were sleep deprived it was because we were workin' too many shifts to afford to eat out," Steve said.

Oh, sure. Make the rich guy feel all kinds of guilty. Wait, that was just one of Tony's base states of being.

"Well, you win that one," Tony replied. "Grad school seems like fun compared to actual work."

"Actual work kind of stunk," Steve said.

"Yeah," Tony replied, focusing on the movie instead. "I've heard that."

"Punching Nazis was fun," Steve offered.

Steve needed new outlets to relieve stress.

Which only made Tony snort in amusement, relaxing a little again. "Punching Nazis and lapping people while running are where you find your fun?"

"Pretty much," Steve said. "And Wikipedia."

"Well, it's better than Reddit," Tony replied with a sigh. Then again, his hobbies included building things for his company. And building things for his team. And occasionally building things for science. "We need to get you more hobbies. How do you feel about video games?"

Steve on Call of Duty would just end in tears, but Tony had high hopes anyway.

Steve made a face. "Reddit is a pit of ideas that were wrong and stupid when I was a kid," he said.

And he'd spent hours telling them that, Tony. People were WRONG. ON THE INTERNET.

"I haven't played any video games yet," he added.

You precious little man. Were Tony a lesser man, he'd be going 'awww' over Steve figuring that out so quickly.

"I've been told they can be cathartic." While Tony just got mad at the damn controllers for clearly not responding fast enough.

"So's the heavy bag at the gym," Steve said, "but I'm willing to give it a try."

He was going to haaaaaaate MarioKart.

Everyone hated MarioKart. It was played out of spite and rage.

Fucking blue shells.

"If you don't like it, you can cross that off your list."

It was the Sorry of the digital age. No one was sorry to throw a blue shell, stop lying.

"Good point," Steve said. "The list has been getting pretty long."

The only thing worse was a competitive game of Monopoly. Say goodbye to your entire evening, everyone.

"Well, what else is on it?"

Steve pulled out his little notebook. "Um. The Berlin Wall, disco, JFK assassination theories, Motown, Space Battles--"

"Disco is dead, I'm not sorry to say," Tony chimed in helpfully. "And Space Battles is on the movie list. We're watching them in release order."

Because that's the way God intended, damn it.

"Is Disco a person?" Steve asked.

[imafuturist]

"It's a saying. 'Disco is dead.'" Tony, just let it go. "No, it's a music style. And dancing. Very seventies."

And thank god hipsters hadn't brought that back.
