Central Park, NYC - Tuesday Evening

So Steve was back to normal, but that didn't stop him from wanting to go on a walk. And what better place to go walking and enjoy the tail end of summer than to head on back to New York for a date night?

Okay, so maybe there were plenty of other places that didn't involve the heat or the faint summer scent of garbage. But they were New Yorkers and therefore in New York, smell and all. At least they probably didn't have to worry about any kind of alien invasions.

Hopefully.

Which meant he had a sleepy lapful of Tony the entire ride there. "We should spend more time in the city," Tony murmured, watching the blocks fly by.

"In this version or another one?" Steve asked.

"This one," Tony said. "We get to relax here."

Mostly.

"We do," Steve agreed, kissing the top of Tony's head.

"And we also know all the best pizza spots here," he added.

"They're all in Brooklyn," Steve said, nodding.

"Incorrect!" Tony replied. "Manhattan. You just don't understand."

The cab driver muttered something under his breath about the Bronx.

"I really don't," Steve said with a laugh.

"Upper west side," Tony said, heedless of the taxi driver's opinion on the matter.

"Absolutely incorrect," Steve said.

[imafuturist]

"You just don't get it," Tony said, interrupted from going into detail on why Steve was wrong as the driver cleared his throat loudly to point out they'd gotten to the hotel.

"Oh, we're here," Steve said, prodding Tony and reaching for his own wallet to pay for the bill.

"Dessert," Tony said. "And a nice bed."

"We can even eat dessert in bed," Steve said, steering Tony towards the front desk.

"Perfect," Tony said, slipping an arm around Steve's waist. "We have the penthouse suite."

Of course they did.

"Do we?" Steve asked, smiling.

"It's our hotel. Yours," he corrected after a moment.

Steve's cheeks went pink. "I don't need a hotel, you know."

"Property is a good investment," Tony insisted like that explained anything.

[heroic_jawline]

"I don't need a hotel," Steve repeated.

[imafuturist]

"Wait until you see the room," Tony said, hitting the elevator button. "They re-did it."

[heroic_jawline]

"They redid it to look like what?" Steve asked.

[imafuturist]

Tony squinted, looking around the lobby. "Looks like Prohibition chic?"

[heroic_jawline]

"My favorite," Steve said dryly.

[imafuturist]

"It's very classic," Tony murmured, leaning in for a kiss ad the elevator chimed.
