Central Park, NYC - Tuesday Evening

So Steve was back to normal, but that didn't stop him from wanting to go on a walk. And what better place to go walking and enjoy the tail end of summer than to head on back to New York for a date night?

Okay, so maybe there were plenty of other places that didn't involve the heat or the faint summer scent of garbage. But they were New Yorkers and therefore in New York, smell and all. At least they probably didn't have to worry about any kind of alien invasions.

Hopefully.

Tony smiled into his shoulder as the elevator dinged again to let them know they were on their floor. Which had just two suites on it. Because this was meant to be fancy enough for Tony Stark after all.

Steve grinned as he noticed. "Two doors? Are we sleeping in separate rooms tonight?"

"They are suites, darling," Tony replied. "One on the left is us."

Well.

"Or the right if it's not up to your exacting standards."

"My standards aren't that exacting," Steve said.

"Are you sure?" he teased, tugging Steve to the door to swipe it open for them.

"Well, it depends on what I'm judging," Steve admitted.

Tony stumbled into the rooms, looking around at what looked like the sort of room where someone might drink brandy with a fire going while they brooded on the stock market.

"Well. There we go."

"It's a lot less dirty than I remember this time period," Steve said with a tiny smile.

Tony nudged him. "Bedroom?"

To get away from this room and it's... theming.

"Bedroom," Steve agreed, making mental notes to call and get some parts of the room tweaked to be slightly less what he was guessing was Tony-childhood adjacent. "We can keep the lights low."

"Aren't you rather forward," Tony said, going with a tease rather than normal human emotional awareness.

"You like when I take initiative," Steve said.

"Oh, I do, I do," Tony said, letting Steve herd him to the bedroom all without taking his eyes on the man.

"And we're still getting dessert," Steve said. "Um, not a euphemism."

Not entirely a euphemism.

"But it could be," Tony said with a laugh, relaxing a little for the first time since they stepped into the suite.

Steve reached out to link their fingers together and gave Tony's a squeeze. "That was part of my eventual idea."

"Bedroom," Tony said. "Then you can look at what they have to order still."

[heroic_jawline]

"Something with chocolate," Steve decided immediately.

"Ooo, do you think they have cake?" Tony, you owned the place.

[heroic_jawline]

"I'm sure they have cake," Steve said, herding him gently towards the bed.

The bedroom, at least, looked normal enough. But Tony was already peeling off clothing as they entered it. "We should keep some clothing here for next time."

Steve smiled as he watched. "You like it here that much?"

"I miss being in the city," Tony admitted with a sigh. "As nice as Fandom has been..."

He needed more hustle and bustle sometimes.

"It's quiet aside from the occasional invasion," Steve agreed.

"Maybe I split more time here and back home," Tony suggested. "Since you'll be working on your team. I should too."
