Ballroom of Stark Towerlet, Saturday Afternoon

So, maybe the whole getting Steve up to speed on roller skating in the ballroom wasn't the best plan. But ice skating was happening without a lot of hot chocolate being provided, so there they were.

And now Steve had a sprained wrist that he was downplaying like his last name was actually Stark or something. Which was rude. Sure, it'd heal with record speed and all, but the principle of the matter!

"Are you sure we don't need to go to the clinic? Or maybe just get Don?"

Steve smiled. "Well, I've seen it happen," he admitted.

"I have a lot on my mind!" Hence completely forgetting to eat the ice cream while offering Steve a other bite.

"I know you do," Steve said, taking the second bite. "Don't forget to try the ice cream."

"Oh! Right," Tony said, taking an absentminded bite for himself. "Okay, this is a good flavor."

"I have good taste," Steve agreed. Ignore all Jello-based choices he'd made in his life, okay?

"Picked me, didn't you?" he teased.

"I did," Steve agreed, stealing a cold, chocolatey kiss.

Tony kissed him back, humming happily. "Feeling better?"

"95 percent there," Steve said.

"Well, we're not going anywhere until that last 5% is taken care of," Tony said with a firm nod.

"Should we watch a movie?" Steve asked. Someday they would get through an entire movie! Maybe it would be today!

"Meaning one of your romcoms," Tony filled in. Which he never minded missing.

Steve beamed at him. "I like happy endings."

"If it's another secret prince, you're on your own." Liiiies.

"What if it's a secret duke?" Steve teased.

"I guess I can accept a duke," Tony sighed.

"Maybe a secret duchess," Steve said, smiling.

"Now you're just pushing it," Tony countered.

"You've never met a secret duchess?"

"Only the ones who are trying to kill me."

"I am a very attractive piece of new money," Tony replied with a grin.

"You are," Steve agreed. "They better watch themselves."

"Are you going to protect me?" Tony asked with a laugh. "My knight in shining armor and all that?"

"I will protect you from the terrifying murderous duchesses," Steve promised.
