Well, the homes in Austria and Greece were both still under construction with a more defensive mindset after AIM attacked one of them. And Tony had (needlessly) promised Steve a vacation for the little break between classes.

Which was why he'd surprised him with a trip to Dublin!

Look, Tony had this need to be Tony sometimes and it was best to just let him get it all out there. Otherwise you ended up with giant teddy bears and rooms filled with roses. Sorry not sorry, Steve.

"How do you like the room?" Tony asked, setting his bag down.

Steve grinned in delight. "It's gorgeous," he said, kissing Tony's cheek. "Thank you."

"There's even a balcony to have coffee on in the morning," Tony said, stopping at the complimentary bottle of champagne to inspect it momentarily before putting it back in the ice bucket.

"Does the wine meet your approval?" Steve teased.

"I'll allow it," Tony shot back with a grin. "Want me to open it?"

"Yes, please," Steve said with another smile. "It's very sweet of them to leave something for us."

Sweet and definitely not part of the whole package! Suuuuure.

"Check out upstairs too," Tony suggested. Because of course he found a hotel suite with two stories.

Steve blinked. "I'm sorry?"

"It's mostly just an office and bathroom up there, but it's nice in case I have to take any calls from Pepper," Tony said like that was normal.

"You generally avoid having to take any calls from Pepper," Steve teased, looking for the staircase.

"Yes, but I get to use those to avoid calls from Rhodey this week."

Best friend ever.

"He looked very surprised by the other dogs," Steve noted.

"He loves dogs, don't let him fool you."

Tony would buy him a brand new couch after they all somehow burrowed into his old one.

Steve grinned. "I believe you."

Tony popped the cork, carefully to not let it get all foamy. "Glasses?"

They were by the bespoke dessert under the cloche by Steve.

Steve glanced around, found the flutes, and brought them over. "These feel heavy."

Waterford crystal, Steve.

"Well, they don't want you to break them easily." Also, yes. Waterford crystal.

"What kind of hoodlums do they let into this hotel?" Steve teased.

"Oh, you know how it is," Tony replied. "Can't leave the Americans anywhere."

"It's true," Steve said. "We ruin everything."

"The worst," Tony said, pouring him a glass and then one for himself. "Oh, and check to see what dessert they gave us. Apparently it's bespoke for every guest."

"So we get two?" Steve asked, heading back to the cloche, "or one to share?"

"You know, I'm not sure." It would be decidedly Avengers themed somehow.

Steve chuckled. "What are you betting on?" he asked.

[imafuturist]

"I'm guess... apple based for you," Tony said after some consideration. "Or dark chocolate for me."

"Chocolate Guinness cake," Steve guessed, nodding, "with a sugar helmet."
