Well, the homes in Austria and Greece were both still under construction with a more defensive mindset after AIM attacked one of them. And Tony had (needlessly) promised Steve a vacation for the little break between classes.

Which was why he'd surprised him with a trip to Dublin!

Look, Tony had this need to be Tony sometimes and it was best to just let him get it all out there. Otherwise you ended up with giant teddy bears and rooms filled with roses. Sorry not sorry, Steve.

"How do you like the room?" Tony asked, setting his bag down.

"A whole chain called 'Tony didn't help'," Steve teased. "But in French."

Tony reached over to grab his chin like he wanted to kiss him, but instead smeared chocolate frosting over Steve's lips instead. "Better than Steve didn't help."

Steve gasped dramatically. "I've taken many more classes than you have."

And yet he'd learned very little.

"And you boil most things." Which was possibly better than burning it all.

"I don't boil most desserts," Steve said. "Jello doesn't count."

"That's because you can't boil most of them," Tony replied, sucking the frosting off his thumb.

Steve's eyes went immediately to Tony's thumb. "Hmmm?"

Did Tony have to take his time with that? Of course! Cleanliness, godliness, and all that.

He smiled before swiping another bit of frosting to repeat that with. "I'm sure the baker won't need any advise from either of us."

"Probably not," Steve agreed faintly. "Wait, you're not moving this baker to Paris, right?"

"That was the plan if they took the job," Tony replied.

"It's not that far to Paris," Steve conceded.

"We can always circle back to this plan at the end of the trip," Tony suggested. Because he'd have to get a bakery purchased first.

Well, of course. "Does that mean we have to go to Paris, too?" he asked.

"I know it's a hardship for you," Tony said, resting hand on Steve's arm like he was trying to help Steve through this.

Steve laughed. "Only if we go to the Louvre, too."

"I'll make that sacrifice so you feel comfortable with going," Tony said dramatically.

Steve laughed again. "Do not use the trip to pick things out for the ballroom," he teased.

"I don't even have a wing there," Tony said like that was the only thing holding him back. And might actually be.

"You don't need a wing there," Steve told him. Knowing how Tony's mind worked, he immediately added, "And neither do I."

"They're tetchy about it anyway," Tony said with a sniff. "The French."

Because that explained it.

Steve grinned, reaching for another bite of cake. "Did you try before?"

"Oh no, my mother did," Tony replied around a sip of champagne. Champagne and chocolate cake had to be an amazingly decadent start to a vacation, right?

It was an insanely decadent start and Steve was concentrating on the cake to avoid the 'two story suite' part. "I'll bet they weren't very polite in their no," Steve said.

"They were not," Tony agreed. "Upstart Americans."

Was the French accent for that necessary? Absolutely.

Steve snorted. "That is not very polite."
