Tony shot up, one hand immediately going to his now perfectly normal chest before registering where he was.

"Time'z'it?" he mumbled, pressing the heel of his hand against the bridge of his nose stabilize the pounding in his head as he quickly silenced all the data feeds surging in at once. Again, no clue how natural telepaths lived like this all the time.

"It is currently 1:26 P.M. Eastern standard time," JARVIS supplied helpfully.

He untangled himself from the throw blanket and sat up on the couch to glare at where Fox News was still quietly playing on the TV. Because Tony was a masochist.

Ugh, naps were simultaneously the best and worst things in the world.

They would cry, Tony. They would, in fact, cry.

"You should listen to your elders," Steve said, nodding.

"Oh, are you my elder now?" Tony asked.

"When it suits me," Steve said.

"Uh huh," Tony said with a shove. "Just be glad this Barton doesn't seem as inclined as mine to get you an AARP card."

Like was given to his Steve. Who basically only used it to mess with people.

"What would I get to do with it?"

Because he'd totally mess with people too.

"Basically get discounts on things," Tony replied. Mostly because he had no illusions about hitting the point where he'd be an AARP member to know more about what they did. "It's for people older than fifty, though."

"Hmmm," Steve said, frowning. "And I kind of qualify but kind of don't."

"Who is going to tell the World War II veteran he can't have a discount at Denny's?"

People who hated freedom. That's who.

Steve wasn't so far past the Depression that a discount didn't sound good to him.

"What's Denny's?"

[imafuturist]

"Like a greasy spoon, but corporate."

With all the coffee Tony could need.

Steve wrinkled his nose up. "I'll stick to a local diner, then."

[imafuturist]

"You are such a hipster." Without even meaning to be! "Denny's and Waffle House are... not so proud traditions of inebriated college students at three in the morning."

Steve smirked at him. "Is there one near your college?"

[imafuturist]

"There were a couple places," Tony replied with a grin at the memory. "Any place that was open late was the best. Walking distance was even better."

"For the staggering home part?" Steve said, grinning. "Bucky and I had a few nights like that."

[imafuturist]

"It was alcohol or normal sleep deprivation for Rhodey and I," Tony said with way too much pride.

And by then Rhodey had been latched onto too much to escape.

"If we were sleep deprived it was because we were workin' too many shifts to afford to eat out," Steve said.

Oh, sure. Make the rich guy feel all kinds of guilty. Wait, that was just one of Tony's base states of being.

"Well, you win that one," Tony replied. "Grad school seems like fun compared to actual work."

"Actual work kind of stunk," Steve said.

[imafuturist]

"Yeah," Tony replied, focusing on the movie instead. "I've heard that."

[heroic_jawline]

"Punching Nazis was fun," Steve offered.

Steve needed new outlets to relieve stress.

[imafuturist]

Which only made Tony snort in amusement, relaxing a little again. "Punching Nazis and lapping people while running are where you find your fun?"

"Pretty much," Steve said. "And Wikipedia."

[imafuturist]

"Well, it's better than Reddit," Tony replied with a sigh. Then again, his hobbies included building things for his company. And building things for his team. And occasionally building things for science. "We need to get you more hobbies. How do you feel about video games?"

Steve on Call of Duty would just end in tears, but Tony had high hopes anyway.
