Central Park, NYC - Tuesday Evening

So Steve was back to normal, but that didn't stop him from wanting to go on a walk. And what better place to go walking and enjoy the tail end of summer than to head on back to New York for a date night?

Okay, so maybe there were plenty of other places that didn't involve the heat or the faint summer scent of garbage. But they were New Yorkers and therefore in New York, smell and all. At least they probably didn't have to worry about any kind of alien invasions.

Hopefully.

"Mmhmm." Hopefully Steve would enjoy steering him there.

Steve had it labeled in his phone as "Tony's Brooklyn Hotel (why)", so they'd be able to find it, at least? "I think we need a car," he decided.

"Taxi?" Tony suggested. "Uber is so annoying. They get weird when I get in the car. Taxi drivers don't care."

"How weird do they get?" Steve asked. "They never think it's me."

"Ask for signatures and then the weird questions come," Tony grumbled, leaning oh so heavily into Steve's side to keep himself upright.

"Weird questions?" Steve echoed, steering Tony towards the exit.

"Tabloid questions," Tony said, making a face.

[heroic_jawline]

Steve also made a face. "That's none of their business," he declared, stepping off the curb to wave down a cab.

"Taxi is so much better," Tony said like it explained everything as one pulled up for them. "So much better."

"I'm a big fan of you not getting harassed," Steve agreed, opening the door for Tony.

"Because you're the best," Tony said, slumping into the seat and giving the address of the hotel to the driver."

Steve laughed and climbed in behind him. "You not getting harassed is the the lowest possible bar for me to cross."

"I have an amazing husband," Tony told the driver who didn't care in the slightest.

[heroic_jawline]

"He doesn't care," Steve told him, laughing.

[imafuturist]

"Amazing," Tony repeated seriously. Like if he said again, the taxi driver might care.

Steve grinned at him fondly. "That was some good whiskey," he teased.

"I have better at home." Where they weren't going. "I should get some at the hotel."

Tony, no.

"I think you've probably had plenty for tonight," Steve said, "but we can order every dessert on the room service menu." He'd been planning on doing that anyway.

"The best husband," Tony murmured into Steve's shoulder.

[heroic_jawline]

"You've only had me to compare it to," Steve teased softly, holding Tony upright as they sped through the city.

Which meant he had a sleepy lapful of Tony the entire ride there. "We should spend more time in the city," Tony murmured, watching the blocks fly by.

"In this version or another one?" Steve asked.

[imafuturist]

"This one," Tony said. "We get to relax here."

Mostly.

"We do," Steve agreed, kissing the top of Tony's head.

"And we also know all the best pizza spots here," he added.
