Apartment Above Stark Industries, Saturday Afternoon

The storm outside had knocked out the power, but Tony had worked hard on having reduncancies in place for his lab and the apartment.

Sadly that didn't seem to matter when Fandom was being Fandom, so he was bundled up in a winter coat as he worked on converting a lamp into a space heater. It was at 1.0, so there was still room for improvement there. Possibly five different iterations before he would be satisfied with what he'd made.

"It's supposed to be spring," he muttered under his breath angrily.

[For the half frozen guy!]

Luckily this was more a case of tapping into back up power rather than creating new stuff.

If only Fandom wasn't out to get him and his many, many back up plans for these instances.

"You still good there?"

The blanket fort nodded. "It's better when I can see you and not just focus on looking out the window," Steve admitted.

"Once I've got this, I'll get another heater going," he promised, glancing up to offer a quick smile. "They should be able to warm up one room between the two of them."

"One of the other reasons I live with an engineering genius," Steve said, smiling back.

"The other reason is showing you what remote to use, right?"

Steve laughed. "How'd you know?"

"Genius," he replied as the light in the oven came on.

Steve applauded under the blankets. "Waffles for everyone!"

"Maybe heating it up will also provide some warmth here," he suggested, smiling despite himself at the clapping.

"That would also be a bonus," Steve said, glancing out the window."It's really blowing out there."

"I guess we had it pretty easy this winter compared to other places," Tony said with a little sigh.

"Maybe," Steve said, "but there's a reason I don't live in South Dakota."

Mostly due to the dearth of decent pizza, but the snow didn't help.

"Sweetheart, there are so many reasons for that," Tony replied with a laugh. "Not that you dressed up like a cowboy isn't appealing."

"I could grow a really big mustache. I'd look amazing."

Mmm, not really, Steve.

It would be terrifying and Tony wpuld be forced to shave him while he slept.

"Oh, you've figured out my secret fetish."

Or at least half, forcing Steve to get rid of the rest.

"Really big mustaches?" Steve said, snorting. "Really."

"Really into those mustache rides," he teased and tugged Steve into a kiss.

"Such a liar you are," Steve teased, kissing him back hard.

"I did like that beard, though," Tony said, nipping at his bottom lip.

Tony, please don't fetishize the grief beard.

"Oh, really," Steve murmured between kisses. "The power stays out much longer and I'll have a pretty good couple of days growth...haven't seen where to get a decent straight edge in this century."

That made Tony laugh, bright and happy as he pressed in to enjoy the warmth of Steve an the blanket burrito. "You are such a hipster, Steve."

"I was using a straight edge before they were...does that make me the proto-hipster?" Steve asked, sounding a little appalled.

"It makes you the original." Did that make it better? It probably didn't.

"I'm not sure that's better," Steve said, scraping his teeth against Tony's beard.

"It's better," he said, gasping a little at how good that sting felt. He clutched a little tighter at the blankets, holding him as close as he could.
