Well, that'd been an interesting end of the week.

Tony was somehow still cleaning up after the party, frowning at the disturbing collection of chip flavors leftover from it.

"Maybe Kitty would like them?" he muttered to himself. Pregnant women were supposed to have odd cravings, right?

He shamelessly pressed his advantage now, showering Tony with praise as he set a tempo that was gradually sending Steve back over the edge.

Tony made a soft little noise once he finally felt Steve come, flushed red from the compliments, but he'd claim it was entirely from the activity.

Steve curled around him protectively (and a tiny bit tired) and held him close. "Love you."

"Love you," Tony muttered, not able to move for the moment.

And maybe enjoying the closeness.

Steve tucked his chin in against Tony's neck and closed his eyes. "I'll get up in a minute," he mumbled.

"You can stay," Tony said. Even if it might have been a little hard to parse as he was mumbling it mostly into the bed itself. "Stay," he said more clearly.

Steve smiled and kissed Tony's cheek. "I'll stay."

Tony hummed, smiling as well. "You melted my brain."

Steve definitely sounded pleased to hear that. "Part of the plan."

"You do make good plans," Tony sighed, reaching back to trail his fingers gently through Steve's hair.

"Song about it and everthing," Steve agreed muzzily, "but if you start singing it, I'm gonna get annoyed."

"I have a good singing voice, though," he teased.

"You are impressive in all things," Steve teased back, "but no."

Tony snorted, shifting around to face him, tangling their legs together. "You say the sweetest things."

Steve gave him a small, sweet smile. "Sometimes you even believe them."

"Well," Tony said a little awkwardly, kissing him to distract from that.

Steve stroked Tony's hair as he kissed him back.

"Don't think this gets you out of helping clean up," Tony muttered once he felt the distraction had worked.

"Don't think I didn't notice you trying to distract me," Steve replied just as quietly, kissing Tony's neck.

"I was kissing you." As a distraction from emotions.

"But with a goal in mind," Steve said, blue eyes staring right at Tony. "You don't do well with compliments."

"I do just fine with them," Tony replied, helpless but to kiss him again quickly.

Also, it was the sincerity that threw him off.

"You brush them off," Steve insisted with that same sincerity.

"I--I get a lot of them that don't mean anything," Tony said, keeping his focus on Steve's mouth rather than his eyes as he spoke. "So when they do, it's..."

Steve ran his thumb along Tony's cheek. "Tough to hear?"
