JARVIS and the Mouse overlord had pushed some older movies up into Steve's List of Things to Watch to Understand Tony's References. Though some of them may have just been added because healthy levels of strife were good for the soul.

"Couldn't we watch that new Space Battles show?" Tony asked, concerned for Steve's taste levels here.

Tony was weak against sad, puppy eyes, okay? He was weak.

"Also, to make it a direct correlation, other me would need to be replaced by a HYDRA clone."

The fact that this was idle conversation over Thai food was probably weird, wasn't it?

"Oh, if any version you got replaced by a HYDRA clone, I'd burn SHIELD down twice," Steve said, completely undramatically.

"My hero," Tony said loyally, leaning in to kiss him on the cheek.

Steve smiled. "Wait. HYDRA can make clones?" he asked.

"Mine managed those clone kids," Tony pointed out. "And you were actually replaced by an alien when things broke bad that way back home."

"I remember you saying the alien thing," Steve said, "and I got more distracted by the kids being kids rather than figuring out how they existed."

"Other than how they came about, they were pretty... great," Tony muttered into his curry.

Steve smiled gently at him. "They were."

"Maybe not half dozen of them at once," he added, leaning into Steve's side.

"That sounds better," Steve agreed, kissing Tony's damp hair.

"If only because you'd take toddlers base jumping."

HE KNEW YOU, STEVE.

"They'd love it," Steve proclaimed.

"Not as toddlers."

"Probably especially as toddlers," Steve said. "They just wouldn't be very good at it."

"If you do that, I'm making sure they get horse riding lessons too." Rich people sports for the win.

Steve wrinkled his nose up. "Polo?"

"Polo," Tony agreed. "Sorry, darling. I can promise I'll never take you to a match."

"That and giving me the last eggroll are reasons I love you," Steve teased.

"It's all about compromises," Tony replied, leaning in to kiss him even as he grinned back at him.

"We've gotten very good at compromising," Steve decided.

"Mostly on whose turn it is to retrieve Patriot from under the couch," he teased.

"Well, the spreadsheet you made JARVIS start helps," Steve said with a grin.

"It's just smart!" JARVIS basically ran their lives.

"I love you," Steve said, laughing.

Luckily for Tony, honestly.

"Damn right you do," Tony muttered into another kiss.
