After taking their class here for a museum trip, it was only reasonable to give Steve that date he wanted. Also, it wasn't Olive Garden. A place that made Tony shudder involuntarily.

That whole mention could be blamed on that last bit of weirdness.

"I've heard good things about this place," Tony said, hurrying along the street to the resturant in question.

"It's definitely not what I'm used to," Steve admitted. "It's delicious."

Well, the pate was kind of weird but Steve was never going to complain about food.

"No checkered table clothes," Tony added.

"Or drippy candles," Steve agreed, smiling.

"Oh, but do we think there's a mob connection here?" The real test.

Steve glanced around, appraising. "Probably not," he decided.

"Probably," Tony agreed with a laugh. "But the chance is never zero."

"Well, they make really good fried vegetables, regardless of legality," Steve said.

"And subs," Tony added with a wistful sigh. "Best sub I ever had came from a place I'm certain was a front."

Steve laughed. "There was a place with the best meatballs and the shadiest reputation back in the old neighborhood."

"That's just how it goes!" You know. In New York. New Jersey. Chicago. Probably Vegas.

Steve nodded, grining. "Maybe just in New York."

He caught sight of their waiter struggling under the weight of a giant seafood tower. "Is that heading our way?"

"Ooo, that's yours," Tony said, doing his best to clear a spot on their table. The table that was not large enough for the tower.

"That's a lot of seafood," he said, eyes wide.

"It did say it was meant for two people."

"Me and Thor," Steve murmured.

Tony laughed as another table was pulled over to hold it for them and his steak was set down on the table before him. "You'll like it!"

"More than the pate, even," Steve said with a grin. "Your steak might take a third table."

"They want to make sure we're well fed," Tony insisted.

"Mission accomplished," Steve said, starting in on his dinner enthusiastically.

Tony hummed in pleasure at a bite of steak, slicing off one for Steve as well to offer off his fork.

Steve made a soft, happy noise. "That almost as good as mine. Which piece would you like to try?"

Tony hummed, considering the spread. "Lobster," he decided after a moment.

"Fancy," Steve teased, feeding Tony a bite.

"I'm a very fancy man," Tony agreed. "And I'm willing to share this steak out of the kindness of my heart."

"You should have statues erected in your honor," Steve agreed, grinning. "...do you?"
