Central Park, NYC - Tuesday Evening

So Steve was back to normal, but that didn't stop him from wanting to go on a walk. And what better place to go walking and enjoy the tail end of summer than to head on back to New York for a date night?

Okay, so maybe there were plenty of other places that didn't involve the heat or the faint summer scent of garbage. But they were New Yorkers and therefore in New York, smell and all. At least they probably didn't have to worry about any kind of alien invasions.

Hopefully.

Steve ignored the grumbled as the guy handed over two of everything. "This smells amazing. Thank you."

"You're ridiculous," Tony informed him as they walked away.

"You love me," Steve said around a mouthful of chicken and rice.

"I love you," Tony agreed, brushing a bit of rice off Steve's chin.

Steve smiled and held out a forkful for Tony. "It's good."

"Why, thank you," he replied, taking the offered bite. "You're going to be so full, you know."

"I'm never full for long," Steve assured him.

"Not without making some poor buffet cry," Tony replied.

Steve grinned. "Thor and I should go to an all-you-can eat place and take Raiden."

"Oh, the ultimate test of my wallet now, huh?" He teased.

Steve's grin widened. "Maybe. We could watch that show about food challenges, then go try 'em out!"

Steve, no.

"You just want to make grown men cry," Tony countered.

"Not 'just'," Steve said with his mouth full again. "It's a side-effect."

"Next summer we'll get you in that contest on Coney Island," he teased, pressing a smacking kiss to Steve's cheek.

Steve grinned. "Now that I can probably be seen in public again."

"Going that well?"

[heroic_jawline]

"I'm optimistic," Steve admitted, finishing up his box and depositing it in the nearby trash.

Tony hummed and leaned into his side. "Well, here's hoping for next summer."

Steve smiled. "Fury has to give us that much, right?"

"Oh, he owes us a lot more than that," Tony replied dryly.

Steve laughed. "I'm not going to stop at being able to compete in a hot dog eating contest," he promised.

"You're just starting there," Tony replied with a grin.

[heroic_jawline]

"Exactly," Steve said, grinning back. "Small steps, but not so many that I'm back to doing Memorial Day speeches."

"And then curling up in bed with me and the dog," Tony added. "I can live with that."

Steve smiled. "Well, after we've run off Patty's energy."
