Central Park, NYC - Tuesday Evening

So Steve was back to normal, but that didn't stop him from wanting to go on a walk. And what better place to go walking and enjoy the tail end of summer than to head on back to New York for a date night?

Okay, so maybe there were plenty of other places that didn't involve the heat or the faint summer scent of garbage. But they were New Yorkers and therefore in New York, smell and all. At least they probably didn't have to worry about any kind of alien invasions.

"But am I wrong?" Tony asked around a bite of taco.

"I wouldn't call myself a jackpot," Steve said airily.

"And what would you call yourself?" Tony asked, leaning into him heavily. Because Steve could handle it.

Steve smiled down at him and wrapped his arm around Tony's waist. "I'd call me a kid from Brooklyn."

"Same thing," Tony replied easily.

"It's really not," Steve said, deciding to forego hot dogs for the moment to keep his arm around Tony.

"With you, it is," he teased, resting his head on Steve's shoulder.

"Love you," Steve murmured.

"Love you too," Tony replied with a grin.

[heroic_jawline]

"This is closer to your haunts," Steve said. "Where do you recommend for drinks?"

"There's The Hamilton," Tony suggested. "If you like whiskey."

Which Tony did.

"I could be convinced to drink some whiskey," Steve said.

"Then away we go," Tony said, tugging him along, out of the park.

Several flights of whiskey later and Steve was grinning over at Tony. "Feeling squiffy yet?"

Tony hummed in a tone that implied he very, very much was. "I think I could hit one more place."

He could not.

"Is that one more place the hotel bar?" Steve asked.

[imafuturist]

"Mmhmm." Hopefully Steve would enjoy steering him there.

Steve had it labeled in his phone as "Tony's Brooklyn Hotel (why)", so they'd be able to find it, at least? "I think we need a car," he decided.

"Taxi?" Tony suggested. "Uber is so annoying. They get weird when I get in the car. Taxi drivers don't care."

"How weird do they get?" Steve asked. "They never think it's me."

[imafuturist]

"Ask for signatures and then the weird questions come," Tony grumbled, leaning oh so heavily into Steve's side to keep himself upright.

"Weird questions?" Steve echoed, steering Tony towards the exit.

"Tabloid questions," Tony said, making a face.

Steve also made a face. "That's none of their business," he declared, stepping off the curb to wave down a cab.

"Taxi is so much better," Tony said like it explained everything as one pulled up for them. "So much better."
