Apartment Above Stark Industries, Saturday Afternoon

The storm outside had knocked out the power, but Tony had worked hard on having reduncancies in place for his lab and the apartment.

Sadly that didn't seem to matter when Fandom was being Fandom, so he was bundled up in a winter coat as he worked on converting a lamp into a space heater. It was at 1.0, so there was still room for improvement there. Possibly five different iterations before he would be satisfied with what he'd made.

"It's supposed to be spring," he muttered under his breath angrily.

"Just what I've always wanted to be," Steve said dryly. "Adorable."

Though "hot like fire" didn't exactly enter into his vocabulary, either.

"I could go with kissable," he offered. Helpfully.

Steve's cheeks went pink. "I can agree to kissable," he said quietly.

Tony enjoyed the blush about as much as he would enjoy the freckles. "I'm open to any other suggestions."

"Well, a lesser man would make some kind of pass about how body heat warms people up fast," Steve said with a tiny smile. "You could see the freckles on my back that way."

"Oh, did you need me to warm you up that way?" he teased. "I could manage that if we move this to a bed."

With literally every blanket and a shut door in the hopes heating up the room a little with the little space heater that could.

"Well, first let's get the oven going. We can have beans or oatmeal and make this a day straight out of my childhood," Steve said with a little grin. "At least the windows don't leak here."

Tony laughed and kissed him again for that. "I can do that. I'm concerned about our stomachs if we only eat oatmeal and beans, though."

"Oh, there would be so many fart jokes," Steve admitted. "I've heard them all."

He paused. "Which is also a fart joke."

"I can and will kick you out of bed." In no way would he.

"Especially after all the beans," Steve said with a grin. "Nothing could be worse than the Howlies with a bellyful, though. God, the horror."

"I am going to make you watch Blazing Saddles once we have power again," he decided.

Steve would laugh his ass off.

"Sounds like a date," Steve said, kissing him again.

"A very romantic one," he said with total sincerity.

Well, for them it was!

"So what did you have in mind for food?" Steve asked.

"We can probably use up what's in the freezer now." Before it went bad.

Steve frowned. "So...chicken, those weird frozen waffles, and the peas I use for bruises?"

"I have no idea if the chicken will thaw in here," Tony said with a laugh. "Waffles covered in syrup please."

"Sounds better than beans and oatmeal," Steve said.

Those would be the last resort foods.

"Lots of calories in syrup, right? You'll need them."

"I think so," Steve said. "So. We have to move?"

Blankets and all, if Steve had his way.

"Have you warmed up at all?" Tony asked, giving him a critical once over.

[heroic_jawline]

"Yes," Steve said earnestly. "Thank you. I'm feeling much better."

[imafuturist]

"Then you can come watch me get the stove working," Tony replied. "You and the space heater."

And the adorable blanket burrito.

Steve kissed him again. "Okay." He grabbed as much of the blanket burrito as he could in one hand and the space heater in the other. "Ready."
