Apartment Above Stark Industries, Valentine's Day

There wasn't a massive stuffed animal or way, way too many flowers waiting for Steve in the apartment this year. If only because Tony had learned his lesson about those. Kind of.

He hadn't learned his lesson about making reservations at places that Steve could never, ever learn the real price tag of.

And there were still just a few dozen roses in hiding for when Steve finished getting ready to go. Look, he was doing his best at being restrained here!

Steve was very definitely looking, a pleased smile on his face. He leaned in and kissed Tony's stomach.

"I adore you," he said. "Not for the shower thing."

"Because I keep you fed?" Tony suggested, smile softening as he ran his fingers through Steve's hair. Then added as a little after-thought, "And fuck your brains out."

He didn't even get Steve eating or drinking before saying it! Progress!

Steve was blushing clear down his chest. "Both of those things definitely help."

"Get undressed before your suit gets stuck to you," he teased. "And then we can kill that bottle of wine and you can continue to take advantage of me, Captain."

"You have the best plans," Steve said, kissing him soundly before stripping out of the rest of his suit--leaving the boxers--and retrieving the wine and desserts.

"I'm a known planner!" Tony called after him, rolling onto his stomach to watch Steve. He sighed and stretched out sore muscles in the ridiculously comfortable bed.

"I know you are," Steve said fondly. "Contingencies for almost everything."

He brought Tony's glass back over and kissed him. "And don't start spinning up about the almost."

Tony smiled into the kiss, taking his wine. "Would I do that?"

Yes. Frequently.

"Frequently, sweetheart," Steve said fondly.

"Cruel man," Tony replied, flopping back against a pillow.

"Mm-hmm," Steve agreed, settling in next to him. "So mean and un-attuned to your needs."

"Uninterested in making me happy," Tony agreed, immediately rolling toward him to settle flush against his side. "They say it's common when there's an age gap in the relationship."

It was possibly a joke about Steve being 100. Possible.

Steve laughed and kissed the top of Tony's head. "Oh, yes, you whippersnapper with your phones and electricity and what-not."

"Yes, yes, grandpa," he teased, humming happily as he took a sip of the wine. "You picked a very good bottle, sweetheart."

Steve turned pink, very pleased. "Thank you. It's a red one!"

Such a wine expert.

At least it was endearing!

Tony hummed in agreement, kissing him on the cheek. "Did you leave me any of the desserts?"

"Chocolate ones, even," Steve said, reaching for the small bowl of chocolate mousse. "Open up."

"My hero," Tony replied, obediently opening his mouth for Steve to feed him.

Steve gave him a spoonful and oh yeah, now he could see the appeal of taking care of someone like this.

"I try."

It also might have helped that Tony moaned in appreciation of the mousse. "We need to buy a place here so I can eat like this all the time," he sighed.

Steve kissed his nose. "Something small."

"A tiny Parisian apartment where you can pretend to be a starving artist," he teased, snatching the spoon out of Steve's hand to feed him as well.

"Mmmm," Steve said. "Bad neighborhood?"

"Leaky pipes, Windows that are stuck open a crack," Tony added. "Closets aren't in the vocabulary at all."

He could be describing New York, honestly.

Steve laughed. "Sounds exactly like Brooklyn. Are the neighbors yelling all the time too?"
