JARVIS and the Mouse overlord had pushed some older movies up into Steve's List of Things to Watch to Understand Tony's References. Though some of them may have just been added because healthy levels of strife were good for the soul.

"Couldn't we watch that new Space Battles show?" Tony asked, concerned for Steve's taste levels here.

"I'm not throwing money," Tony said incorrectly. But he at least got to enjoy the view for a moment before carefully getting out after him.

"And stop staring at my ass," Steve said, grinning over his shoulder at him.

"Sorry, did you say something, dear?" Tony asked. "I was too busy staring at your ass."

Steve snorted. "You're incorrigible."

Tony beamed at him, reaching for a towel. "I'll be nice and get the food when it arrives so you don't need to worry about covering up."

Nice. Yes.

"You're all heart," Steve said dryly, smiling. "I'll check on Patriot and make sure he's not into your shoes."

"...oh god, did I forget to close the closet door again?" That dog now had a taste for fine Italian leather.

"I think I double-checked this morning," Steve said, "but he has been awfully quiet..."

At least it kept him happy?

Tony wrapped a towel around himself to go hunt down the dog. "Patriot, no!"

He immediately regretted raising his voice even the slightest as the dog looked utterly pathetic next to a pair of ruined shoes.

Sorry, Steve. You might need to be the disciplinarian.

"Oh, Patriot," Steve said in his Very Disappointed Voice, which was just going to get the puppy to pee in shame or something equally unproductive (especially since the dog didn't care that he was getting the disappointed voice from a guy wearing only a towel). "Bad dog."

Patriot looked everywhere but at the shoes like maybe they didn't exist anymore. All while ducking his head down and slowly wagging his tail in a hopeful fashion.

"How did the books say to handle this?"

"That they're chewy and smell like you and are basically the best things ever from Patriot's view?" Steve said with a tiny smile. "That it means he's lonesome and wants some Tony time, and to get him a better Kong and no shoe access."

Tony sighed, scooping the dog up to hug. "How can I argue with that? Sorry daddy and I weren't paying attention to you," he said, causing the dog to wriggle in his arms and attempt to lick him.

He was getting an automatic door on that closet next.

Steve definitely didn't have a goofy smile on his face from being called daddy.

Also shut up.

"Poor little guy."

Uh huh. Suuuure, Steve.

"Hold him while I get dressed for the delivery guy?" Unless Steve wanted to continue their trend of seeming like they were offering a threesome.

The highlight of the delivery guy's day!

"You just want to see me shirtless and cuddling a puppy," Steve teased, taking the dog who licked his face and whined like he had not seen Steve for years and not, like, an hour.

"J? Picture. Set it as my phone background."

Steve blushed and smiled as he ducked his head to kiss Patriot. "What was it before?" he asked.

"You after you took off your helmet," Tony replied, putting on a pair of pajama pants just covered in little shields.

Steve was definitely grinning at the pants choice. "Because my hair looks silly?" he guessed.

"Because you look very dashing," Tony countered, tugging on a shirt that was only a tiny bit big on him. Because you wore smedium, Steve. And not the size you were.

"That's my shirt," Steve said, smiling.

He knew exactly what Tony was doing and it pushed all of his buttons anyway.

"Is it?" It very clearly was.

"It says Rogers on the tag," Steve said. "It has the SHIELD logo on it."

Tony pulled it up to sniff. "Smells like my cologne," he teased.
