Venice, Italy - Friday Evening

After taking their class here for a museum trip, it was only reasonable to give Steve that date he wanted. Also, it wasn't Olive Garden. A place that made Tony shudder involuntarily.

That whole mention could be blamed on that last bit of weirdness.

"I've heard good things about this place," Tony said, hurrying along the street to the resturant in question.

Steve grinned. "Maybe a little," he agreed.

"Excellent!" Yeah, you married this one, Steve.

Steve beamed at him. "Is that your plan?"

"To make sure to spoil you rotten?" So you won't ever leave. "Yes."

Just leaving part of it out. Normal things!

Steve nudged his foot against Tony's under the table. "It's not necessary."

"A little spoiling?" Tony suggested sheepishly.

"A little spoiling is okay," said the man staying in Venice for the weekened.

Tony nodded in acceptance as their wine was brought, presented and then poured for them both. He took the opportunity to use more Italian to order their meals with the foie gras along with the tempura vegetables.

Because he could, really.

"Very impressive," Steve teased, sipping from his glass.

"I'm trying to impress my date here," Tony replied. Because a trip to Venice wasn't enough, clearly.

"Your date is very impressed," Steve assured him.

"Impressed enough to put out?" Honestly, Steve had to expect that question.

Steve laughed. "Right this second?" he teased.

"And miss out on the food? No, no, no," Tony replied. "After. I have some manners, you know."

"I've noticed that from time to time," Steve agreed, smiling softly.

"We're going to have a lovely evening in Venice and then spend the weekend here."

Because clearly they hadn't gotten enough vacation after New Zealand. Somehow.

"That sounds really swell," Steve murmured. "Thank you."

Tony smiled and reached over to put his hand on Steve's for that. Because sometimes it was just nice to have a moment there.

Steve slid his fingers through Tony's and squeezed. "Love you."

"Love you too," Tony said with a smile. He only pulled away as food was being brought out to the plate for them.

"This doesn't look like vegetables," Steve said, pointing to the fois gras and smiling.

[imafuturist]

"Well, I thought we could try it since we're here and all..."

Also, they could splurge and then crave all the salads after the trip was over.

"I don't think I've had more than one kind of fois gras...ever," Steve said.

"Well, now you'll have the experience."

Even if pate was a little, well, cat food-adjacent to Tony.

"Hopefully I'll enjoy it," Steve said with a smile.
