Central Park, NYC - Tuesday Evening

So Steve was back to normal, but that didn't stop him from wanting to go on a walk. And what better place to go walking and enjoy the tail end of summer than to head on back to New York for a date night?

Okay, so maybe there were plenty of other places that didn't involve the heat or the faint summer scent of garbage. But they were New Yorkers and therefore in New York, smell and all. At least they probably didn't have to worry about any kind of alien invasions.

Hopefully.

"But you were a very cute golden retriever for the week at least," Tony replied. "Managed to tire out Patty after a few days too."

Which was a talent.

"His legs are so short," Steve said, laughing.

"And yet he still manages to make it up all those stairs," Tony replied with a wide grin. "I feel like he takes after you."

"Stubborn and unwilling to acknowledge his limitations?" Steve asked.

That was Steve to a tee.

"You make it sound so appealing," Tony drawled.

[heroic_jawline]

"But he's cute about it," Steve said.

"And so are you," Tony replied, tugging him into another kiss.

Steve kissed him back, smiling against Tony's mouth. "I love you," he said. "We should get food."

Steve, such a romantic!

"You want food from a cart," Tony murmured back at him.

[heroic_jawline]

"I want food from many carts," Steve admitted.

Tony laughed and gave him a playful shove. "Alright, alright. You're so lucky that you can't really get food poisoning, you know."

"Are you saying that you don't have complete faith in the inspection prowess of the city of New York?" Steve asked.

[imafuturist]

"Sweetheart, if you think any of those carts are cleaned more than twice a year, you're fooling yourself," he said, laughing and pulling Steve along.

"The hot dog water too, probably," Steve said. "Maybe it should be studied for science."

[imafuturist]

"A whole ecosystem in each cart!"

They were utterly ridiculous.

"I bet you could ask for samples," Steve said earnestly. The hot dog vendor might not be nearly as receptive, but Steve was optimistic.

"I'll pass and live in ignorance for this one," Tony replied with a solemn nod.

"How brave of you," Steve teased.

"I am a treasure and a delight," Tony replied, tapping him on the chest. "Caught myself a dashing older man and everything."

"I'm the older man today?" Steve asked, laughing. "Does that mean I can order celery soda and not get teased?"

"Oh no, I have to tease. It's in the wedding contract. Clause 56 C."

He totally pulled that out of his ass.

"Oh, I never read past clause 40," Steve said, tsking. "That's on me."

"Oh, you should have gotten further in, there are some really good clauses on where we're allowed to get pizza too."

Weirdly? All in Manhattan.

Steve snickered, dragging Tony towards the food carts. "Really. Any in Jersey?"

[imafuturist]

"No, that would involve going to New Jersey," Tony replied with an affronted tone. "Also not on the list: Long Island and Staten Island."
