Apartment Above Stark Industries, Valentine's Day

There wasn't a massive stuffed animal or way, way too many flowers waiting for Steve in the apartment this year. If only because Tony had learned his lesson about those. Kind of.

He hadn't learned his lesson about making reservations at places that Steve could never, ever learn the real price tag of.

And there were still just a few dozen roses in hiding for when Steve finished getting ready to go. Look, he was doing his best at being restrained here!

"Sounds awkward for the waitstaff," Steve said, chuckling.

"Might keep them from flirting at least," Tony countered.

"They weren't flirting," said poor, oblivious Steve, sliding his fingers up under Tony's shirt to scratch at his back.

"They most definitely were," Tony replied, arching his back into that touch.

Steve scratched a little harder. "Not with me--"

Tony planted a hand on Steve's shoulder to support himself, speeding up the rhythm of his other to reward Steve for being so kind. "You have no idea how attractive you are, sweetheart."

Steve let out a low moan. "Not a billionaire, genius, philanthropist--"

Tony silenced him with a claiming sort of kiss, grinding against Steve's thigh in time to the movement of his hand. "And what are you?" he asked breathlessly. "So, so far out of my league."

Steve moaned a little louder at that. "God, you feel good. And you are not even a little out of my league. I'm batting way above where I should be, if anything."

"Anyone who tries to tell you that is delusional," Tony informed him, pushing him back against the chair to grin down at him.

Steve tipped back easily, putting his hands onto Tony's hips to press him down a little further and grinning back. "And if it's me?"

Tony's grin widened at that. "Then I guess I need to convince you otherwise," he murmured, leaning in for another kiss.

"I'm open to persuasion," Steve said, nipping his lower lip.

Tony hummed happily, kissing him again. "Where'd you leave your surprises?"

"Inside jacket pocket," Steve said.

"Naughty, naughty," he teased, only letting go of him to search for them. "Had these things on you the whole time."

"Well, I liked it so much last year when you had the surprise," Steve said.

"Well, you knew I was shameless," Tony replied, setting the cuffs to the side for now, but keeping the lube.

"I like to surprise you, too, sometimes," Steve murmured.

"My cup runneth over," he only half teased, unbuttoning his own shirt.

Steve ogled him shamelessly. "You are so handsome."

Tony glanced back at him, slowing down a little to make more of a show of getting undressed. He took extra care to keep the little shield cuff links from getting lost in the shuffle of things.

"Thank you for that," Steve said, kissing him after he'd put the cuff links aside.

"I'll have to wear them more often for you," Tony replied, tugging playfully on Steve's tie as he kissed back.

"Yes, please," Steve sighed, squeezing Tony's ass.
