Tony was regretting the number of dogs he'd ended up with here. Mostly because he was presently covered in them as he tried to go through work emails. Tried was the key word there because they were being needy and competitive for the attention he could provide.

"Steve, you can turn back any moment now," he just sighed as he was up to his neck in fur.

It'd be so nice if things worked that way, wouldn't it?

Which meant the other dogs had to try and repeat that to make sure Tony knew he was also theirs. It was going to be a thing.

"You started this," Tony sighed.

Steve's tail thumped happily, smacking Patriot across the face.

Tony sighed again. "I love you too," he said, kissing him on the top of the head.

"Why are there so many of them?" Steve gaped from the midde of a puppy pile.

"It's just three!" Which was still one more than they had discussed previously.

"It feels like much more energy than that," Steve said.

"Well, two of them are puppies." Very high energy puppies.

"Big puppies," Steve said, scratching the husky behind the ears.

Fee took that as the right moment to attempt to gnaw on Steve's leg. Which she'd definitely also done when he was a dog.

"It seemed like a good idea at the time."

Steve laughed. "Why did it seem like a good idea at the time?"

"You weren't there?" That tracked if you asked Tony.

Steve laughed. "Okay, that might be a compelling argument," he said, batting gently at the puppy trying to take a bite out of him. "Hey now."

"I can see how she ended up at the shelter," Tony admitted. "But we managed the Hulk, this can't be any harder than that."

Steve laughed. "She's not named Bruce, right? I think that could hurt his feelings."

"She's Fee. And the other one is Liberty," Tony said, letting Fee gnaw on his hand with great enthusiasm. "Ow."

"Please tell me that Fee isn't short for Freedom," Steve said.

"Nope," Tony said, oh so innocently. "I wouldn't do that to you."

He would, however, name a dog Fuck Elon. So.

"But you would name one Liberty," Steve said.

"She came with the name, which is why I picked her," Tony insisted.

"Well, that makes sense," Steve said. "Why Fee?"

"...no reason." Tony, no. Don't surprise him with the vet calling out Fuck Elon.
