Secret AIM Facility - Long Island, NY - Saturday Morning

After the complete clusterfuck that was yesterday, Tony was going for a tried and true method of coping called 'go beat up bad guys for touching his stuff.' It was super fun.

And he did promise to let this version of Steve hit the armor for stress tests, but hitting AIM seemed like a way better plan. So, hitting AIM it was.

"If you see anyone in ridiculous yellow outfits, they're the bad guys," Tony said, looking through the list of Stark technology on the premises that was helpfully listed by JARVIS after a quick scan of the place. He was going to blow up so much stuff today.

It almost made up for the fact that he was in Long Island.

"Well, at least they're excited," Steve said dryly, lifting up his shield.

"It's adorable," Tony agreed, taking a shot at MODOC with a tiny missile to match those tiny arms. It sent MODOC careening to the side a suitably comical fashion.

"But the whole world domination through technological superiority ruins it."

Steve didn't snicker at the poor, angry, lopsided villain.

"Especially when they're stealing your stuff."

"Precisely why blowing things up here is fun." A beat. "And should be alerting SHIELD any minute now. Even if they are a little slow."

"Well, thanks for lettin' me get first crack at them before the others got here," Steve said with a tiny smile. "This was...enlightening."

"Steve, he's a giant floating head."

MODOC drifted by on the other direction. Still screaming that he would defeat them as a plume of smoke followed him.

"You can be honest."

"I fought a guy who ripped off his own face to show off his newer, redder face, then woke up 70 years in the future to fight actual aliens...but yeah, this is the weirdest thing I've seen," Steve said, watching MODOC.

"It's all uphill from here," Tony lied.

"Just what I always wanted to hear," Steve said dryly.

There was another explosion in the background as MODOC finally crashed into the building. You almost felt bad for him.

"Okay, job well done. Even if we did have to come to Long Island for it."

"Could've been worse," Steve said, tracking the explosion with his eyes. "Could've been Jersey."

"One of these days, remind me to show you Jersey Shore." And maybe let him film your reaction, Steve. Please? It would be epic.

"You mean Atlantic City?" Steve said. "I've been there."

"It's a tv show." It was a special experience, really. "You might wish you could drink for it, though."

"I've been noticing that as kind of a 21st Century theme for me," Steve admitted.

Tony gave him a pat on the arm as people in skintight blue uniforms finally made an appearance to arrest people.

Color coordination was important, Steve.

"Okay, we're going to get out of here before Hill questions why there are two of you."

"Good call," Steve admitted. "There'd be questions and phone calls and I've had enough questions and phone calls this week."

YEAH, ABOUT THAT...

"C'mon, we're getting pizza as soon as I ditch the suit." He held out an arm for him to take like he was dealing with his own Steve.

Steve blinked at the arm. "Um?"

It took Tony a minute before he registered the mistake. "Foot on my boot and non-shield arm on my waist. Unless you want to deal with Hill on the warpath, this is the fastest getaway."

A beat.

"You're one of the few non-flyers. We've adapted."

"By us flying together like we're dancing?" Steve replied with a little grin. "Huh."

He could only imagine the ways his Tony would mock him for this.

So, so much. MCU Tony would just make the motorcycle into one that could fly to avoid this.

"I could always carry you bridal style," Tony replied dryly. "Carol did that to Barton when he pissed her off."

"That's really not necessary," Steve said, squaring his jaw and stepping up onto Tony's foot.

There were worse options , Steve.

Tony rolled his eyes, wondering if he'd offended some 40s masculine sensibilities with this. "Don't worry. Haven't dropped you yet," he said, taking off as soon as he deemed Steve secure.

"Didn't exactly picture this as my first dance, that's all," Steve said, trying to hold on tightly without seeming like he was clinging like a guy who wasn't great with flying.
