Athens International Airport, Greece - Friday Afternoon

Steve spent the holiday with his scattered team while Tony had spent it with his own. Which was much less upsetting than it seemed like it ought to have been to take time apart after... everything.

But it could have been because they were going to meet back up.

Which was why Tony was keeping a low profile by the Portalocity section of this airport, waiting for Steve to arrive. Not being impatient about it at all. Don't be ridiculous.

Steve already looked more relaxed as he came through the portal and his face lit up seeing Tony waiting for him. "Hello."

Tony smiled back at him, moving forward like he needed to help Steve carry his bag or something. Okay, mostly just to go touch him. "You made it."

"I said I would," Steve replied, handing him a bag to give them both something to do.

"I know, I know. I'm just glad to see you," Tony replied, gladly taking the bag.

Steve leaned in and gave him a soft kiss. "I missed you, too."

"I missed you too," Tony replied, smiling into that kiss.

Steve kissed him again, then pulled back. "How's everyone?"

"Good," Tony said, sticking close to head out with him. "They only give me worried looks when they thought I couldn't see."

"That sounds familiar," Steve said dryly. "Sam is not good at pretending."

"They worry," Tony replied. "Because they care."

But his tone implied it didn't make it any easier to stomach.

Steve reached for Tony's hand with the hand that wasn't holding a bag and squeezed. "I know. Doesn't make it easier."

"How was everyone?"

"Talking legal defenses," Steve said. "A mysterious benefactor's gonna pay for Clint and Scott's lawyers."

"Ah," Tony replied, a knowing little noise.

[heroic_jawline]

"Completely unrelated, Tony's already hammering about changes to the Accords," Steve said. "He's getting nowhere."

"And you?" Tony asked, glancing over at him.

[heroic_jawline]

"I stayed out of sight," Steve said.

"How are you," Tony corrected.

[heroic_jawline]

Steve's lips quirked up. "It was good to see them."

Tony squeezed Steve's hand for that. "Good."

"It didn't feel right, thought," Steve said. "Everyone wasn't there."

He meant Tony.

"Was everyone welcome?" Tony asked gently. That fight at the airport hadn't looked so great.

Steve stopped to think about it, then shook his head. "Probably not," he admitted softly.

Tony quietly leaned into his side at that, not having any advice he could give on the matter. Just some support.

"There's still work to do," Steve said.
