Well, they'd had another repeat kid. One from a less than ideal timeline from the sound of things. But it was consistent. That had to be good, right?

Right.

At least that's what Tony was hoping as he'd added more backup plans to his list based on the little tidbits she'd dropped here and there. Because that was just how he rolled when faced with bizarre scenarios.

But right now? Right now he was going to spend the evening with Steve to make up for, well, everything about the weekend. "I ordered pizza," he called once he heard Steve and the dog coming back from a walk.

"I promise not to get in my own way again," Steve said more earnestly.

"I promise to trust you more," Tony said. "To... try not to let our stubbornness get the better of us both."

Because it was them, after all.

Steve nodded. "I promise that too." He smiled. "That sounds more like a vow than the dressing me thing."

Tony laughed and pulled him into another kiss. "It does," he had to admit.

Steve wrapped his arms around Tony to keep him in tight. "Well, we can always adjust the terms, right?"

"I'd very much rather that than... breaking things," Tony agreed readily.

"I hate breaking things with you," Steve said. "Any yous. All yous."

Tony kissed him for that.

"Maybe we check in more often," he suggested. "Like you would with an engine."

"Engineer," Steve teased fondly.

"It's helpful," Tony insisted.

"Oh, I'm not disagreeing," Steve said. "I'm just teasing."

"I'm just thrilled I'm in a healthy relationship here."

Anthony. That was just sad.

Steve kissed him again. "I'm glad you're still here."

They were just a combined mess.

"Me too."

Steve slid his fingers along Tony's cheekbones. "Show me?"

Tony smiled at that, pulling him into another kiss that was much more intent this time.

Steve kissed him back just as fervently, caging Tony under his body.

"Gorgeous man," Tony murmured.

"Yes, you are," Steve agreed, smiling.

"Flattery will get you everywhere," Tony replied with another kiss. "Absolutely everywhere."

Steve laughed softly. "Well, it helps that I mean it."

"Oh, even better, sweetheart."

"I'm always honest with you," Steve said, resting his chin on Tony's chest and smiling.

"Yeah?" Tony asked, sounding much softer and sweeter.

Steve pressed a kiss to the skin he'd been resting on. "Yes."
