"Time'z'it?" he mumbled, pressing the heel of his hand against the bridge of his nose stabilize the pounding in his head as he quickly silenced all the data feeds surging in at once. Again, no clue how natural telepaths lived like this all the time.

"It is currently 1:26 P.M. Eastern standard time," JARVIS supplied helpfully.

He untangled himself from the throw blanket and sat up on the couch to glare at where Fox News was still quietly playing on the TV. Because Tony was a masochist.

Ugh, naps were simultaneously the best and worst things in the world.

Tony gave him more of a shove than a punch to the arm for that. Because no one really liked to deal with how shitty humanity could get. "Please tell me you shouted 'Extra extra, read all about it' like in the movies."

"But the newspapers were good to have," Steve said. "It meant I knew what was going on, and in a pinch, they helped shoes that were too big fit."

In case Tony had ever bought a non-custom pair of shoes in his life.

"Please tell me SHIELD gave you shoes that fit now." Or Tony would have to make sad eyes and drag Steve to a tailor.

Which, let's be real, would probably make Steve make sad eyes at the money spent.

"They're just fine if you enjoy listening to the fabric scream in pain," Tony said, cocking his head to the side to give Steve's far too broad chest a look.

Steve's cheeks went pink. "It's the style."

"Is it?" Tony looked so much like he believed Steve. Oh wait, no. Not at all. Sorry.

"That's what the salesperson told me!" Steve said.

They also let him leave with pleated khaki pants and plaid shirts, so.

They apparently thought it for the best to cover up all that before Steve caused an accident by walking by. They were doing god's work.

"No, it's because they don't quite make shirts for your size." Tony emphasized that with a dismissive wave at Steve's torso.

"Then how does Thor manage? I'm not that big, comparatively," Steve wondered.

"Well, mine generally just wears clothing from Asgard. Which might be magical." Of courselves it was. "Maybe yours has a good tailor?"

"Maybe," Steve said. "It didn't exactly come up while we were fighting the aliens his brother sent."

No in depth conversations about fashion mid-battle? Jan would be so sad.

"Well, there you go for a conversation starter once he comes back." Tony, no.

"I guess I could do that," Steve said, frowning thoughtfully. "Oh, look, another robot!"

"And she's the best." As said new robot almost vaporized the hero of the tale. "Rhodey had to talk me out of trying to build one."

"Why?" Steve asked. "She's great!"

"Right? I already have some plans drawn up for the flight systems," Tony replied gleefully. Because now he had encouragement.

"Really?" Steve all but squeaked. "How big would you make her?"

Excuse you, this Tony was only partially responsible for Ultron. Like, 40%.

45% tops. A case could be made for 35% if Tony had less crippling guilt issues.

"I could probably manage as small as a foot without sacrificing too much in power." This was going to end with lawsuits and a birthday gift that wasn't as 'wtf' as building the other Steve his own patriotic themed armor.

"That would be adorable," Steve said with a little grin. "Hey. Where'd she take the plant?"
