Tony shot up, one hand immediately going to his now perfectly normal chest before registering where he was.

"Time'z'it?" he mumbled, pressing the heel of his hand against the bridge of his nose stabilize the pounding in his head as he quickly silenced all the data feeds surging in at once. Again, no clue how natural telepaths lived like this all the time.

"It is currently 1:26 P.M. Eastern standard time," JARVIS supplied helpfully.

He untangled himself from the throw blanket and sat up on the couch to glare at where Fox News was still quietly playing on the TV. Because Tony was a masochist.

Ugh, naps were simultaneously the best and worst things in the world.

"That is an undersuit," Tony said with mock offense. "It's what allows me to move a near quarter ton brick of metal like it's part of me."

"Right," Steve said, then burst out laughing. "Oh, the robot is dancing. That's the cutest thing."

"He gets cuter," Tony assured him. "And I never thought I'd say that to someone."

"I can't wait," Steve said, leaning close to the screen. "This was a good choice."

"So it's going to get better than him stacking boxes forever," Steve said with a tiny smile. "Not that I can't relate to that kind of mindless daily work, but it's not that much of a movie."

"Teaching not exactly how you wanted to spend your time?" Tony asked, watching as Wall-E investigated a red dot.

"Oh, that's fine, other than dealing with the Holocaust," Steve said. "I was thinking of years as a paper boy. That was boring work."

Tony gave him more of a shove than a punch to the arm for that. Because no one really liked to deal with how shitty humanity could get. "Please tell me you shouted 'Extra extra, read all about it' like in the movies."

"With a little cap," Steve said, nodding. "I looked ridiculous."

"Ridiculous," Tony agreed, trying not to smile at that mental image.

"But the newspapers were good to have," Steve said. "It meant I knew what was going on, and in a pinch, they helped shoes that were too big fit."

In case Tony had ever bought a non-custom pair of shoes in his life.

"Please tell me SHIELD gave you shoes that fit now." Or Tony would have to make sad eyes and drag Steve to a tailor.

Which, let's be real, would probably make Steve make sad eyes at the money spent.

"Of course they do," Steve said. "That was a long time ago. We weren't making it up that it was depressing during the Great Depression."

"Well, they don't exactly give you shirts that fit."

"What's wrong with my shirts?" Steve asked, glancing down at the one he was wearing.

"They're just fine if you enjoy listening to the fabric scream in pain," Tony said, cocking his head to the side to give Steve's far too broad chest a look.

Steve's cheeks went pink. "It's the style."

They also let him leave with pleated khaki pants and plaid shirts, so.

They apparently thought it for the best to cover up all that before Steve caused an accident by walking by. They were doing god's work.

"No, it's because they don't quite make shirts for your size." Tony emphasized that with a dismissive wave at Steve's torso.
