Well, they'd had another repeat kid. One from a less than ideal timeline from the sound of things. But it was consistent. That had to be good, right?

Right.

At least that's what Tony was hoping as he'd added more backup plans to his list based on the little tidbits she'd dropped here and there. Because that was just how he rolled when faced with bizarre scenarios.

But right now? Right now he was going to spend the evening with Steve to make up for, well, everything about the weekend. "I ordered pizza," he called once he heard Steve and the dog coming back from a walk.

Tony yelped, smacking him on the ass in retaliation. "You like to spoil me, don't lie."

"I do," Steve said, walking them into their bedroom.

"Carrying me like a sack of potatoes," Tony grumbled, even if the view was nice.

"The most romantic of carries," Steve said.

Well, that got him a laugh and another smack on the ass. Lovingly.

"That is not a drum," Steve said dryly.

"You sure about that, darling?"

Look, getting back to this level of playful was nice!

"Pretty sure," Steve said, laughing.

Tony hummed like he was seriously considering it before another smack.

"Anthony," Steve scolded.

It was not a no.

"You brought this on yourself," Tony insisted.

"Oh?" Steve asked, dropping Tony onto the bed. "How?"

"You gave me such a prime view of your very lovely rear end," Tony replied, laughing breathlessly.

"Well, I'd say I'd stop doing that but I won't," Steve said, leaning in for a kiss.

"Damn right you won't," Tony replied, curling his arms around Steve to get him closer still for that kiss.

"You just enjoy it so much," Steve said.

"Well, of course I do," Tony replied, giving Steve's behind a squeeze this time.

Steve laughed and kissed him again. "It's not that interesting."

"I'm being appreciative," Tony assured him.

"Oh, in that case, carry on," Steve said.

"Damn right," Tony said with a laugh.

Steve rested his forehead against Tony's, smiling. "I love you."

"Love you too," Tony murmured back.

Steve slid his fingers through Tony's hair. "Good."

He loved the relaxed, homey, calm feeling he got in their room.

"Should we take some time away during this break in classes?" Tony suggested like some sort of invasion wouldn't just completely ruin those plans.
