Tony shot up, one hand immediately going to his now perfectly normal chest before registering where he was.

"Time'z'it?" he mumbled, pressing the heel of his hand against the bridge of his nose stabilize the pounding in his head as he quickly silenced all the data feeds surging in at once. Again, no clue how natural telepaths lived like this all the time.

"It is currently 1:26 P.M. Eastern standard time," JARVIS supplied helpfully.

He untangled himself from the throw blanket and sat up on the couch to glare at where Fox News was still quietly playing on the TV. Because Tony was a masochist.

Ugh, naps were simultaneously the best and worst things in the world.

Tony twisted to keep himself between Steve and the coffee. Just in case.

"A spry grandpa. The kind who keeps active. Very handsome for his advanced age," he said, in no way helping. Which might have been the point.

"That's not helping," Steve commented, poking Tony in the shoulder.

"You sure?" It was pretty complimentary.

It was distracting from the sadness though. So.

Steve gave him a lopsided smile. "Well, maybe a little."

"See, my charm is growing on you." Like a nerdy fungus. "Shhh, it's starting," he said like he hadn't been the one talking.

Never mind that Tony was watching him out of the corner of his eye to see how Steve Steve would like the modern animation.

Steve's eyes went wide in wonder at the first shots. "This can't still be hand-drawn."

Tony grinned wide and settled back to enjoy the movie. "It's computer animated. Combines drawing with modern technology."

Now he had to pick some Miyazaki if Steve wanted to see classic hand drawn animation these days.

"This is incredible," Steve murmured, leaning forward on the sofa as he took in the artwork. He hadn't started paying attention to what the little robot was doing yet. "Guess I know what I'm watching the next few nights."

All the animation. All of it.

But he was so adorable! With his brick making and curiosity.

"JARVIS can come up with a playlist of the best reviewed animated movies," Tony offered.

"I'd really appreciate it," Steve said, frowning as he watched Wall-E stacking his little cubes.

"What was the first animated movie?" Tony had to ask. "Mickey Mouse?"

Shhh. Don't talk about the mouse overlord, Tony.

"First feature length was the one with the girl and her friends in the woods," Steve said, smiling softly. "Bucky and I saw it three times."

"Huh," Tony replied, smirking a little at the mental image that brought up. "I guess I never really picture much movie watching back then. Not compared to now."

"Well, it didn't cost all that much, a bowl of popcorn could pass for dinner, and you got news, a cartoon and a movie," Steve said. "It was something to do."

"You got news?"

Steve nodded. "No one had televisions. The radio would get us some, but if you wanted to see a moving picture of what the President looked like, or Eisenhower, or shots of the war when it started, you went to the pictures."

He shrugged. "I'd show up in them once I started doing something useful."

Or be the picture, but he didn't talk about the propaganda stuff.

"Weren't the bonds useful too?" Tony replied dryly.

"Well, yes," Steve agreed, blushing, "but there were less tights involved once I was on the front."

"But still a few tights?" C'mon, you were just setting up for that one, Steve.

"Well, it was cold," Steve said. "The tights were good insulation!"

"Uh huh." Tony believed him. Honestly he did.

"The rest of the guys wanted some too!" Steve replied.

[imafuturist]

"If this is an attempt to convince me to try tights, I'm going to have to pass," Tony replied. The undersuit was tight enough for him.

"You aren't wearing under the armor?" Steve asked.

"That is an undersuit," Tony said with mock offense. "It's what allows me to move a near quarter ton brick of metal like it's part of me."
