Apartment Above Stark Industries, Valentine's Day

There wasn't a massive stuffed animal or way, way too many flowers waiting for Steve in the apartment this year. If only because Tony had learned his lesson about those. Kind of.

He hadn't learned his lesson about making reservations at places that Steve could never, ever learn the real price tag of.

And there were still just a few dozen roses in hiding for when Steve finished getting ready to go. Look, he was doing his best at being restrained here!

"I am amazing," Tony replied smugly,

"That too," Steve agreed, taking another taste of probably-not-a-person.

"So are you," Tony added, digging into the mussels next. "You know. By association."

Steve laughed. "I'll put that on my resume."

"Right below amazing kisser?" Tony suggested.

"That's a hire-able skill?" Steve teased.

"Better not be," Tony replied, nudging his foot.

Steve smiled. "You don't want me learning new skills?"

Tony leaned back as more wine was poured for them. "Not without me."

"We've learned quite a lot already, haven't we?" Steve said, vainly hiding his blush behind his wine.

Tony winked at him as their plates were swapped out for a chicken dish that didn't look like anything that could be human.

"Chicken!" Steve said, happy to recognize it.

"I'm going to have so much fun dragging you to Japan," Tony informed him.

"Because I'll recognize almost nothing?" Steve guessed.

Tony pinched his fingers together to emphasize it was only a lil' bit. "You'll like it, though. I promise."

"Of course I will," Steve said with a fond smile. "You're planning it."

"We might even find enough food to fill you up there," Tony said brightly. Yes, give Steve the largest bowl of ramen possible.

Mmm, ramen.

"That would be quite a feat," Steve admitted. His chicken was already gone at this place.

"There's plenty of eating competitions there at least," Tony said, making sure to guard his own plate form Steve's insatiable hunger.

Steve laughed. "We still need to take Thor to one. We'd make 'em cry."

"Just Thor, huh?" he teased.

Steve's cheeks went pink. "He's more exuberant about it than I am?" he tried.

"Yes, dear." He believed you, Steve.

[heroic_jawline]

Steve hid behind his newly refilled wine glass again. "Shhhhh," he said, taking a sip.

And then another. "Oh, this is good."

"Remember the bottle," Tony said, perking up. "We can have more delivered to the room."
