Well, they'd had another repeat kid. One from a less than ideal timeline from the sound of things. But it was consistent. That had to be good, right?

Right.

At least that's what Tony was hoping as he'd added more backup plans to his list based on the little tidbits she'd dropped here and there. Because that was just how he rolled when faced with bizarre scenarios.

But right now? Right now he was going to spend the evening with Steve to make up for, well, everything about the weekend. "I ordered pizza," he called once he heard Steve and the dog coming back from a walk.

Steve nipped his lower lip. "Love you."

Kids would probably not let them have sofa makeouts, huh.

"Love you too," Tony murmured back.

He grinned. "Talk science to me."

"Oh, you married the right one here," he teased.

"I know I did," Steve said, smiling softly at him. Like a sap.

"Sap," Tony said, kissing him gently for it.

"You deserve sap," Steve said. "You're cherished."

"And you deserve someone to cherish." Who would stay with him.

"I have you," Steve said, smiling.

Tony kissed him again for it. "Even if things change."

Like kids, per say.

And Steve had jumped right to "one of them dying" because Morgan got him thinking about mortality.

"Even then."

Damn it, Steve!

"It's a deal," he murmured.

"I'm so grateful you were patient with me," Steve murmured back.

"It was a rough time for you." And for Tony, but in a different way.

Steve nodded, running his hand over his beard.

Tony pulled him into another kiss for that.

"I love you," Steve murmured again.

"I love you too. That's not changing."

[heroic_jawline]

"I was worried that it would," Steve whispered.

"Things might get rough for us, but I want you to know that? That won't change," Tony promied.

Steve sighed in relief. "I'm going to keep checking."

Possibly forever.

Tony hummed and ran his fingers along Steve's face. "I'll keep telling you then."

Steve leaned into Tony's fingers. "I'll tell you too."

Tony smiled softly, keeping those gentle motions up. "Deal."

Steve smiled back. "Bed?"

The tone seemed to have shifted from making out on the sofa.
