Rockafeller Center Christmas Tree - NYC - Sunday Afternoon

Well, it had felt necessary to do the tourist thing and go look at the tree with the mass of people leading up to the holiday. The urge to do this was quickly passing as they were in the moment of it.

Mostly because it was too cold for Steve and too crowded for the both of them. But it was a pretty tree at least. The lone upside to the whole afternoon here.

"We can say we saw it now," Tony suggested, arm curled around Steve's and all bundled up in winter gear that was probably too expensive for where they were. Like he was just asking to be pickpocketed or something.

(Joke was on them, he never remembered to carry a wallet because why would he?)

"Of course, what else could I mean?" Tony said innocently.

"I am from a different era, I can hardly imagine," Steve said airily.

"Where no one ever did anything impure."

Oh yeah. No Tijauna Bibles out there.

"Babies arrived via stork," Steve agreed with a little smirk, sliding onto the motorcycle and staring at Tony in a way guaranteed to provide only PG thoughts. Really.

Tony grinned back at him, enjoying the picture Steve made before sliding on behind him to hold on a little too tight.

"Which way am I going?" Steve asked, whipping out of the alleyway and not running over a feral cat. (The cat knew New York drivers and had amazing reflexes.)

"Left up ahead," Tony said, taking them on the longest route he could without leaving the borough.

"On it," Steve said with a grin, going far too fast for a city street.

Just like everyone else.

Only two people honked and/or flipped them off! Oh, it was nice to be home. It really was.

Tony held on tightly, pressing close as he offered the worst directions possible to keep this going just a little longer than necessary.

"We've missed the turnoff three times," Steve finally noted with a low chuckle. "I thought you wanted to be inside."

"You like driving and I like you driving." Because on a motorcycle, Steve drove like a crazy person.

Steve laughed. "You are awfully close on the bike," he said.

"Is that a problem, Captain Rogers?" Tony asked, squeezing his arms around Steve.

Steve laughed again. "Not at all," he said.

"Hotel's on the left," Tony said, finally relenting on a nice, warm room waiting for them. Where modern was the new style.

Infinitely better than Howard Flashback.

"Thank you, love," Steve said.

It had meant to be more Steve themed! But maybe saying 'classic luxury' was a bad choice of words for him.

Tony pressed a kiss to his shoulder for that. "You also get to pick the pizza we order."

"Pepperoni," Steve said immediately.

"Oh, you're too easy," Tony said, laughing as they parked.

"I prefer to think of it as classic," Steve replied.

"Oh, a classic," he replied, checking on the chocolate. Which was a-okay, thank you.

Well, Tony was the engineer! Steve had every faith in his abilities.

"Are you saying I'm not a classic?" Steve asked, faux-outraged.

"I'm saying you're easy," he countered sweetly.

[heroic_jawline]

"I haven't heard that about myself in a long time," Steve teased back.

"Clearly they never had you in bed," Tony said, leaning in for a kiss.
