Rockafeller Center Christmas Tree - NYC - Sunday Afternoon

Well, it had felt necessary to do the tourist thing and go look at the tree with the mass of people leading up to the holiday. The urge to do this was quickly passing as they were in the moment of it.

Mostly because it was too cold for Steve and too crowded for the both of them. But it was a pretty tree at least. The lone upside to the whole afternoon here.

"We can say we saw it now," Tony suggested, arm curled around Steve's and all bundled up in winter gear that was probably too expensive for where they were. Like he was just asking to be pickpocketed or something.

(Joke was on them, he never remembered to carry a wallet because why would he?)

"Close enough that you can hold the giant bag of chocolate after we finish our drinks and not fall off the back of the bike in a way guaranteed to end you up on the front page of Newsday?" Steve teased.

"I promise you I can manage that," Tony said solemnly.

Steve grinned and kissed him again. "Then drink your hot chocolate."

He'd tasted it and it was almost worth 20 dollars.

"Bossy," Tony said, leaning into him as he took his sip of hot cocoa. That cost a reasonable amount.

He thought.

"The faster you're finished, the sooner we're back at the hotel," Steve wheedled.

"Because you're cold or because you want in my pants?" Tony asked. Did he time it for when Steve was drinking? Look, these things happen.

Ow ow ow, Tony, hot chocolate out his nose hurt.

Tony beamed at him before fishing for napkins in their massive bag of chocolate. Clearly the best husband anyone could ask for.

"Did you plan that?" Steve asked.

"No! Don't be ridiculous." Happy accidents!

Steve shot him a suspicious look as he took another, more careful, sip from his cup.

Tony just smiled at him like a loving husband would. "My question still stands."

"You don't really expect me to say the answer in public, do you?" Steve asked.

Tony continued to smile, leaning in to press a kiss to just under Steve's ear. "That's all the answer I needed."

"Genius," Steve teased.

"Love you, sweetheart," Tony said with another kiss there before pulling back to sip his cocoa.

"I love you, too," Steve said, smiling, "chocolate and all."

"Especially because of the chocolate," Tony insisted.

[heroic_jawline]

"I'm sure the folks back at the tower will appreciate the gift," Steve said.

"And we get some too," Tony replied, leaning into him.

"How much is some?" Steve asked, savoring the warmth from Tony and also from his drink.

"Maybe a bar each," Tony said. "Since we'll be ordering in for dinner."

Steve laughed. "Big plans, Mr. Stark," he teased.

"I'm wooing here," Tony said like that was perfectly normal to say. It was not.

"You're wooing," Steve repeated.
